1.
Unfortunately most blokes in the UK have no muscles and whinge continuously so have to have class D amps that are lighter than but sound worse than tea bags. We're the second most obese nation on earth and need nano technology to help us overcome our denial. Good to see our Southern Hemisphere cousins loving and embracing the valvey goodness, even if it is American-made. I'm a proud owner of a Mesa 400+ and have a Brit 4 x KT88 monster on the way and I had the transformers made extra heavy not to sound better but to upset weaklings and sanctimonious w£&@ers :-)
Ha ha, gear has always been heavy and I don't expect it to be any other way :-)
 2. In my experience, it makes no difference at all
 3. What's going on? (Taste) Love or confusion? (Jimi) Can you see me? (Jimi) Are you experienced? (Jimi) Have you ever been (to Electric Ladyland)? (Jimi) Do you read me? (Rory) Do you close your eyes? (Rainbow) How long has this been going on? (Ace) When will I be famous? (!) Where have all the flowers gone? (Peter, Paul and Mary) How can I be sure? (Young Rascals)
 4.
Fantastic looking bass.
Thanks :-) I'm looking forward to gigging with her for the first time on Saturday
 5.
Bloody hell. That bridge... !
I know - it weighs a ton but it's really resonant :-)
 6.
Oh - most highly jealous! I've had masive GAS for a Flashback for years. Best looking bass Warwick ever made. Jon.
Thanks :-) They so rarely come up for sale, I didn't think I'd ever own one. Keep looking ... :-)
 7.
Following is copy/paste from another thread Quote. "After much research, it would appear that the first run of Flashbacks (96/98) only about 60 were made. These had the 2TEC bridge. The second lot, about 150 made between around 98/2000 had the usual 2 piece Warwick bridge."
Thanks for that, Karl - always the good guy :-)
 8.
http://forum.warwick...97-Fortress-One Some old pics on the Warwick forum of my F1 before I changed the electrics You need to scroll down a bit ;-)
Lovely looking Fortress there, Verb :-)
 9.
Those Fortresses are all gorgeous, and that bridge! I had never seen the like before. Can I join the club with my own Fortress? Rockbass I'm afraid, but a nice 5er
Thanks - nice looking Fortress you have there. Love the colour! :-)
 10.
Nice collection of Fortress' I think the 2-Tec bridge was standard on the Flashback originally, the standard 2 piece bridge/tailpiece was used on later custom shop built Flashbacks(I'm going from memory so forgive me if I'm wrong) I have a 97 Fortress one in red high polish stain with a maple neck, I replaced the stock electrics with EMG pickups and an Aguilar OBP 3 preamp.
Thanks, Verb - I really like the Fortress series too, in case it wasn't obvious :-) I think you're right about the 2-Tek bridge being standard on the first issue of Flashbacks, then they started installing the Warwick two-piece bridge we all know. Maybe you could post a pic of yours sometime? :-)
 11.
No, I buy everything online....
+1
 12.
All that Jaco/Manring/Wootten stuff leaves me cold...
And I thought I was the only one
 13.
Cheers inthedoghouse. That's a great trio!!!
You're welcome
 14. Thanks for all your nice comments everybody :-) Jecklin - here's the photo of them together you asked for :-)
 15. I really couldn't resist this beautiful '96 Warwick Fortress Flashback She completes my collection of the Fortress series along with my Fortress One and Masterman
 16.
I gigged up and down the country for 4 years with just an old TE head and an 1153 cab - brilliant, brilliant piece of kit.
+1 on that. My old 1153 cab with an (old) TE 210 cab is my main gear - love it :-)
 17.
Well said. I read every thread on Amps & Cabs with this in mind.
+1000000 to that
 18. Another vote for stringbusters.com for my LaBellas :-)
 19.
In a Broken Dream...the Thunder cover is a stonker!
We do that one :-)
 20.
Am I seeing a different guy to everyone else? I cannot stand the man... I'm indifferent to his music but as a person he comes across as a prize bell end.
+1
 21.
Here we go then, I hope this is enlightening for my fellow Tracephiles. I got the amp back following it's service yesterday and very lovely it sounds too! The pics show the 3 incarnations of effectively the same amp from the same generation. On the top is my latest acquisition, an AH250SMX with a fan instead of a heatsink. This is the only one that actually has '250 watts' printed on the rear cover. In the middle is the same head but with a heatsink and finally at the bottom is the 1215SMX combo, again with a heatsink. They all sound great, look great and should hopefully be good for a fair few years to come
Very nice collection you have there :-)
 22. DON'T do it! I blew an amp doing this when I first started playing and didn't know any better :-/
 23. And it still does to this day, just the same as it first did when I first heard it in 1970 :-) Voodoo Child (Slight Return) https://www.youtube....h?v=d81fdU8EP28
 24. I think I'm completely self taught: Watched lots of local bands, went to friends' houses who could play a little bit, listened to records over and over and over and over again. No computers back then, no tabs, just lots of patience and buckets of frustration.
 25. I was always a Roto (round wound) user until I bought a bass with LaBella (rounds) on. I don't use anything else now, but I do have a soft spot for Fender flats I put on my P from time to time.
