1. The guitarist takes his gigging gear and the drummer takes his own drums. I just take my TE 65w combo which is plenty loud enough. We use the PA provided by the rehearsal rooms.
2.
How about Hans Peter Wilfer?
I don't know what he's like as a business person but I mailed Warwick with a question about one of my basses a few weeks ago and received a very quick and pleasant reply from Hans-Peter himself. That's one of the ways to build brandy loyaly imho.
3. The Terrace Inn, Stoke-on-Trent I've never been there before but I'm told it's a good rocking night - I hope so :-)
4. Great to see this positive thread :-) I love my Fireglow '73 4001, toaster pickup, chequer binding - all of her This thread has made me want to gig her this weekend - thanks :-)
5. Gorgeous! GLWTS!
6. Gorgeous bass and Karl is a great guy to deal with :-) GLWTS
7. Glad to hear it! :-)
8. A steal at that price! Exactly the same as mine - lovely bass. GLWTS
9. I'm not usually one for recommending corporal punishment, but in this case ... That poor guitar!
10. Some pubs might offer a 'showcase' night in the week, but probably don't expect to get paid for that. Have you got a FB and/or YouTube page you could sent to prospective gigs so they know what to expect?
11. As soon as I heard this Gary Moore track I though of Jimi's 'Manic Depression' https://www.youtube....h?v=E8joLFYT6eM Cozy Powell's 'Dance with the Devil" is the main riff from Jimi's 'Third Stone from the Sun'
12. Very very sad to read this! :-(
13. These are indeed excellent basses! GLWTS :-)
14. Excellent!
15. Beautiful! :-) I'd be very very tempted myself if I didn't remind myself if would be a nostalgia purchase because I wish I'd never sold mine back in the day. Reality check though - I know she wouldn't get gigged as much as she deserves. GLWTS
16. Thanks, Ralph! :-)
17.
... I'm heartened that there are those of us who do subscribe to the ethic of 'give a little, get a little'.
+1
18. These pickups are great - I have one on my P and am really happy with it :-)
19.
Well, let's not remove it just yet. I'm hoping that everyone who put their band up will actually like us back before too long!! Those few who did are very, very much appreciated by my new band, which played its first couple of gigs just over a week ago, though! Solidarity, Comrades!
This ^
20. From our first gig together last Friday - Infamy! rock cover band :-) Ok, a few mistakes for us all here and there but we played to a full house of (paying) people. It can only get better from here. I'm just so pleased to be back in a band after a break of a couple of years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZuN2ZwTfs8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H99_9LdeGU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uw_M0QHA7c
21. Firstly, well done being offered the position :-) More importantly, well done for taking what you thought was the right decision. As others have said, you were auditioning them too. Good luck! :-)
22. I haven't played it for ages, but I did nothing in the verses apart from try to look as if I was into it and attempt to look somehow cool :-)
23. +1 here - I've used them for ages and wouldn't play without them
24. Very very nice! :-)
