1. Hmmm, it would be difficult to comment on whether I think it's cool or not without referring to the body design. I'm not a Kiss fan either, but even if I was I don't think I could ever see it as cool. But, each to their own and you're getting bad GAS, go for it :-)
2. The Tech 21BDDI delivers for me

5. If people don't want all the notifications from the pages they've liked, don't forget the 'Following' button. Thanks to those who have liked the bands so far - it's fun seeing all the bands we're in :-)

7. Ok, the Badgers have a 'like' from me too, and so will all the other bands on the list on this page. So here I am asking for a shallow and gratuitous 'likes' for our band too, 'Infamy!' :-) https://www.facebook.com/infamy2014 We're only just getting going and have our first gig in January so the page content is a little sparse at the moment Thanks in anticipation :-)
8. Congrats! :-) I've been using TE heads and cabs for years and have no intention of changing - great value and great sound. Gear has always been heavy so I'm used to it.
9. Always angled, unless it's a Strat. Never had a cable problem for as long as I can remember
10. Nice catchy name ... "A yellow box junction must not be entered unless your exit road is clear"
11.
But... the electrons, as the move, they change shape and become streamlined with a narrow nose and a wider tail... then if you plug the cable the other way around, all those electrons have to either reshape or reorientate and the sound is obviously different. The thing is this process only takes a bout 5 minutes for a typical cable, so you would have to unplug-turn around-plug between every song to really benefit from it.
Ah, thanks - I did wonder if I was missing out on something! Lol
12. Utter bollocks! I can't believe anybody would fall for that crap! It's like the article I once read about guitar leads sounding differently if plugged it in the opposite way round! :-/
13. Very sad news :-(
14. Dunlop Power Brick has never failed me over the years :-)
15. Please keep it and save me from ruination! Stunning instrument!
16. I always take it to mean professional, so someone who makes their living at it. It could be read as playing to a professional standard - however that might be measured.
17.
That's right doghouse. Woolies the fine purveyor of musical instruments.
Lol! :-)
18. I seem to remember Kay being a model the local Woolworths sold? :-)
19.
thanks the neck height is perfect, with the standard 3 point bridge it required a small shim but with the fender bridge you can leave the shim out. The width needed to be widened by a few MM and the neck had to go roughly 10mm deeper into the body to get the scale right. 10 minutes with a tape measure and router and the neck fits on lovely.
Great info - thanks!
20. Great looking bass - well done! Was the neck/body an easy match for neck height and pocket?
21.
What's the best atmospheric conditions for metal?
.... smoke and lightning, heavy metal thunder
22. I've used one belonging to a studio - nice amp
23. I've been toying with the idea of putting my old 100w JMP Marshall head through my TE bass cabs just to see what it sounds like. But I can't play it loud enough at home to get a good impression and I don't want to take up valuable rehearsal/band time experimenting. Has anybody here tried this combination?
24.
The man for me, the man was always Manitas de Plata. Got turned on to his playing in the late 60's. Fabulous musician but was sometimes unconventional in his approach to traditional Flamenco.
Yep, I remember seeing him on TV and being amazed. His name has stuck in my mind ever since :-)
25.
But a better comparison would be that you were sitting in the stalls of an am-dram production of Tristan und Isolde and Nina Stemme walked in and asked if she could do an aria. Of course you'd say yes, wouldn't you? I doubt as many would be slagging her off for doing that as are giving RD a bad time here. This thread has a very disappointing edge to it.
Can't help but somewhat agree with your sentiment ...
