1. SansAmp BDDI here - love it
2. I saw Billy with Mahavishnu back in the day - truly awesome!
3. Silly prices! http://www.amazon.co...g&condition=new I got mine signed in person :-)
4. Someone asked the question ... Q: So is this a fender deluxe or not? Couldn't tell as your description is a bit ominous. Also, with hardcase or without? A: my brother (whom I'm selling it for) cant be sure it's 100% genuine... although it has made in the USA on neck ,the serial number starts with the letter J... so he's a little cautious over its origins. ..hence advertised as "STYLE" (its a good copy if it's not genuine!)... it will be shipped in a hard case but not a guitar case...a genuine one is around £1700.. so whatever it makes it's a bargain... it's in good condition and has been used as his second (spare) guitar
5. Only Van Damme cables here
6. Welcome to BC Beware the For Sale forum - it's addictive. Have fun!
7. Welcome to BassChat - you're very welcome aboard Make yourself at home
8. We'll support you as best we can then but we're all sufferers and prone to lapse ...
9.
Fair play for taking up that bargain If it had narrower spacing at the nut I would have had it!
Thanks, Kev - you know how it goes when things just get to be too much of a temptation when it's such a great deal. It's a monster of an instrument though and well worth selling a couple of amps I wasn't using to help fund Yes, it's a wider string spacing at the nut but after spending some time with her it's starting to feel 'normal' to me now Cheers, Dave
10.
Thanks inthedoghouse. I will avoid the For Sale section at all costs as I have some serious GASing at the moment. Got a Digitech Synth Wah last week and just picked up a bargain Morley Bad Horsie 2 on Ebay, primarily for guitar, but it may end up on the Bass pedalboard. Have needed to shield my eyes when reading the bank statement in recent months as I've invested in more and more gear for gigging.
I'm sure you'll do your best to avoid the For Sale section but curiosity may get to you. It happens to all of us and then before you know it you're thinking hmmmmm and the GAS is turned on again For instance, I've just made a major purchase off here but I still find myself having a peek now and then (most days) But you're probably made of stronger stuff than I Good luck, Dave
11. What everybody else said :-)
12. For what it's worth I'm still very happy with my TE head and cabs (carpet covered) and often get compliments on my sound. I use the preset tone shape, a tiny bit of onboard compression and a touch of EQ (on the amp and bass tone controls). Weight isn't really a factor to me because of the sound I get.
13. For me, once the nagging doubts start and you spend a lot of time thinking about it it's time to leave before the rot well and truly sets in. It's happened to me once or twice and I've stayed longer than I felt was right (for me). The band hasn't worked on any new material for so long, there is disagreement over what gigs to accept and some are expressing disappointment over your availability. Sounds to me like the band is in something of a limbo state anyway. It depends on what your singer means by 'make it'. But whatever, family commitments always come first imo. Good luck and let us know what you do
14. Yep, this was mentioned here recently. Naughty naughty seller!
15. Sunday night bump for this beauty :-)
16. Great band! :-)
17. Welcome to BC - I'm sure you'll enjoy it here
18. Brill - thanks! :-)
19. On the basses where I have a passive/active option I usually prefer to use passive mode and dial in my sound on the amp and/or SansAmp. Of course, there are times when the active option is good to have for a little more flexibility in tone.
20. I was always happy with my Trace 1x15 topped with a 2x10 .... until I started reading BC! :-) All the talk of mismatching speaker combinations 'made' me buy another 1x15 and, on the rare occasions I 'need' two cabs, it does indeed sound awesome - but then again so does the 1x15 and 2x10. Ha, all this just goes to show that I love both combinations and does little to answer your question
21. I've hardly ever used in a live situation it but my AnalogMan chorus is pretty good imho. As others have said though, I find chorus on bass does tend to get lost in the mix unless you have a passage where bass can be fairly prominent. Oh yes, and the effect is usually more noticeable and pronounced with a more treble sound.
22.
I would love to hear this!
Thanks! I can't wait to give her an outing. Our (new) band is just finalising the set, so it won't be long now
23. I don't think I've got ten either, but in no particular order apart from #1 ... John Entwistle Billy Cox Mike Inez Andy Fraser Mel Schacher (Grand Funk Railroad), Pat Daugherty (Black Oak Arkansas)
24. GLWTS this time Great instruments, I love mine. Shame you couldn't get on with the shape. I find mine really comfortable.
