1. Now that's a very good question. I honestly have no idea. It would need rack ears at the very least; you could maybe check with Ashdown. Anyone?
2. Aaargh! This has to stop. That's the third - maybe even fourth - bass on here I'd kill for. Too cool by half!
3. The Compact has gone but the buyer of the ABM has had to pull out, therefore that's back up for sale at £325 or nearest sensible offer.
4. I used to have one of these. Nice amp. Unfortunately mine was half-inched from the van in Hendon sometime in 1986. Wish I still had it given what they're going for!
5. Well I'm not currently using these - my band is all acoustic except for me so my Kickback copes fine - and I've seen something I like, so as long as that's available these will be too, although I reserve the right to withdraw these if circumstances change. The Compact is an early model but does what it says on the tin. Weight is about 32lbs; it's a one finger lift. Condition is very good, although there are one or two very minor marks and blemishes. Only used in rehearsals and never gigged. The Ashdown is an old ABM500 but was completely overhauled by Ashdown about a year and a half ago, including fitting a new sleeve as the old one had become somewhat tatty. I can supply the receipts. Since then it's been used twice at open mics for a total of about 5 songs and a couple of times at home, prior to me buying the Hartke. In other words, hardly at all. Prior to the overhaul it served me well and saw off competition from Markbass and Epifani. Collection is preferred on both or buyer to arrange courier pickup. I don't currently have boxes for either but could probably sort something for the Ashdown; not so sure about the B/F. Happy to discuss options. Cash on collection (at my convenience, obviously) is preferred but could do Paypal. Happy to split. Any questions, just PM me. FWIW the prices are pretty firm at £375 for the B/F and £325 for the Ashdown, but I can discuss.
6. I'm not normally a huge fan of spalted woods but that is absolutely lovely; relatively understated. Must resist!
7.
Alder iirc
Cheers Andy.
8. What are the bodies on these made of?
9. Been wanting to try a Cheyenne for years. Sadly have nothing available for trade at the moment, a pain as I've suddenly developed a hankering for a 4004 of some description.
10. Really sorry to hear that George, that's such a shame. I have spinal stenosis with mild cord compression (amongst other things) but am currently still able to play. What a sad reason to have to stop playing. Best of luck with the sale; in other circumstances I'd have considered this but I just don't have any availables at the moment.
11.
I assumed there were some in the first page of the thread, I'll post some Chris
Cool, looking forward to it.
12.
Because paying for nothing is a waste of money, and money is a finite resource for most people. It is a very real thing, as the exchange medium to purchase an item to perform a function, you can pay for function, or you can pay for exclusivity from a marketing strategy, with the corresponding reflection on which you rate more of your music or your image.
So it is important. Then it isn't. Then it is. Have You Got It Yet? And we're done, if only to save the sanity of the rest of Basschat.
13. I had one of these and it was a great bass, especially for the money. That fretless is interesting....
