  1. Yes, rumble is being used as a bedside cabinet just now. 🙄 Should really sell it, or use it.
  2. This topic made me join the group, not seen Alan for a few years, probably February/March 2020 at the show in New Bingley Hall? Never had one of his basses, but always thought I’d speak to him at some point.
  3. I could be replaced pretty easily. In fact, both cover bands I play in have replacements for me and I’ve lined them up, should I not be able to do a gig. Latest cover band I’m in, we’ve only done one gig this year, I got my replacement to do a full set rehearsal, so I could work on sound and effects before our one and only gig. I’m not precious.
  4. Tried that, went into desk and no onstage sound from me. Drummer complained that he kept loosing track as although I’m shocking at playing bass, it did actually help him find his way through the songs. So now, even if I’m using IEM’s, I still have the headrush on stage and let the drummer control the volume.
  5. Yes, started using one last year, with a small amp & cab’ simulator pedal. Could loan you one to try, if you want?
  6. Did you ever note the settings down? I need to do Bad Love (Clapton) and the opening is clearly fretless. Hoping to just create a patch for it.
  7. Annual visit to see the Australian Pink Floyd on the 22nd of November in Glasgow.
  8. First time buying from Tim and would definitely buy again, fantastic Hohner. Quite to reply, communicate and post once I’d paid. Thank you sir. 🫡
  9. Dear Mr Dodgnofski, I find myself in the position of wanting this more than I want to buy my grandchildren Christmas presets. I’ll be using the messages we’ve exchanged over the last few days to show my wife that you used high pressure sales tactics ( such as being polite, courteous and quick to respond ) and all but forced me to buy it. Anyway, PM’d and thank you for the additional pictures and info’ over the last few days. Lee.
  10. I’ve got a ticket to see them at the Barrowlands on the 14th, usually most band around here have the night off and make it the Christmas night out. Usually a great night.
  11. You’re only a few years ahead of me and 20 odd miles away, so I’d like to think there’s more out there for you. A friend is in his late 70’s and still gigging a couple of time a week with his band ( Nightfly ). To the OP, I had a 20 year hiatus and thought it was all over, but a simple chance meeting changed it. You never know what’s round the corner, so I wouldn’t rule anything out.
  12. Well done to all and hope the house alterations go well Andy, be prepared for some short term pandemonium. 👍 Worth it in the end though. ❤️
  13. Goodness me, why would you post this seven weeks before Christmas, when I can’t afford it. 😢 I’m off to empty the biscuit tin and sell everything in the house that isn’t bolted down. 😳🫣
  14. Days late, but first gig with a new band last Friday. Taking me back to days gone past, playing with keyboards, being just the bass player and a different sorta set list from what I’ve done for the last six years. Liked it and nothing wrong with the set list, just need to tighten up as a unit, which we’ll do over time. I’ve come to the realisation that an almost 20 year hiatus has allowed my ( weak to start with ) skill level to diminish and I’ll never be as good as I was in the 90’s. Enjoying doing a wee bit more though.
  15. Love mine, had for four years now and have the D tuner like yours, but the most uncomfortable thing to play standing up. Fine sitting down, but moves about 12” to the left as soon as you stand up and put the strap on. I’m going to have to look for the strap extension hook, as I’d love to gig it more.
  16. No, told Gordon he’d play Bar 6 after a six year hiatus. Horse & Jockey is 5th and 10th of May. I’d be as well leaving my gear setup there. 🙄
  17. Ted’s playing in the livingroom on the 27th of April, if you’re looking for a wee trip out? 👍
  18. Would be good, just let me know if you can and how much. 👍
  19. Sorry, double post. 🤷‍♂️
  20. Sorry, missed the reply Dave. Yes, they call it “The Live Livingroom”, but we went down a treat and he’s offered us more gigs. It is quite compact and bijou. 🤣 But great audience and when you take it for what it is, it’s just fun. Any gig I’m back in Lanark before the takeaway shuts, is classed as a good venue. 🤣 Friend plays drums with Jack, so will need to pop down and see them. 👍
  21. Great night last night, not too busy, at the Horse & Jockey in Lanark. No rehearsals, just straight in and only fluffed ne song (Dakota, as I play it in a couple of bands and play different structures). However, a load in, gig, then load out, after not having gigged for two months, has taken it out of me and I’m on again in Wishaw at 16:00 today. Nothing since the start of February and then two at once. 🙄
  22. If you ever decide you could post this, I’ll take it. 👍
  23. The good thing about doing backing band for a panto is…… home for 11:00. 😁 Had a great laugh after the pyro flashes set the fire alarm off and not one person moved. 😳 Twice. 😳 But still looking forward to tomorrow night though. 👍
  24. I may have made a major mistake yesterday. I had a vaccination yesterday morning, nothing I haven’t had half a dozen time over the last few years. Anyway, I think you know where this is going, lost the use of my right upper arm and was in quite extreme discomfort all evening, leaving the strap fully extended and my bass round my knees. 🙄 I can only put the change in the effect on my arm to some significant weight loss over the last six months. Needle must have went further into my muscle?
  25. I’ll keep getting the guitarist to use it at rehearsal and I’ll use it as a monitor at gigs I think. Thanks guys.
