1. Hello I think I've blown my Boss LS-2 pedal. While swapping another pedal into one of the loops on the ls-2, as I plugged the power into it (the other pedal, not the ls-2) there was a bit of a popping sound throught the amp (both channel volumes on LS were turned right down at the time), and now there is no sound coming through either of the loops or through the bypass signal. Lights come on on the pedal as normal, just no sound. Both pedals were on the same power supply (but not daisy-chained) if that's relevant. Does this sound like something that is repairable? Would a repair cost less than getting another one second hand? Did I do something stupid that can be avoided in the future?! Thanks for your help! George
2. Not heard them before, good set up they've got. Great drummer!
3. Sounds good, thanks. Recently bought a Frantabit though so not sure I need one of these at the moment...will have a think about it! Is that your band in the video?
4. Any chance of some sound clips of the Micro Crusher? Also from the photo it looks like there's a third jack going into the bottom of the pedal. What's that for? cheers
5. From what I've read not all power supplies that advertise themselves as isolated actually are. Of the cheaper options this one is isolated and not too much money. http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_powerplant_junior.htm Only has 5 outputs though which is a bit limiting.
6. Hi, I've got one you can buy if you like. It came with a LMII that I got on ebay. I'm only using the head as a practice amp so the bag is surplus to my requirements really. Make me a sensible offer if you're interested!
7. Hi, is the MarkOne looper still available? cheers
8.
Hadn't looked at the mooer. Nice one! Am thinking that this could so the job! Thanks very much Matt
There's one for up for grabs in the effects for sale section. Bit cheaper than gettin one new. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/259727-mooer-pure-octave-l40-post/
9. Mooer Pure Octave has octave up and down options. Sounds sort of Poggish, but is cheaper. Might be worth a look.
10. Does the Manta do stuff that the Soundblox BEF Pro doesn't? Think they mentioned there's some sort of distortion options built into it or something like that.
11. Is that the Soundblox pedal?
12. Ok, thanks. Doing drum n bass type stuff so sounds like it might be worth having a go with one.
13. Any idea how the WMD Super Fatman compares to the other filters you've mentioned above? I mostly use a Q-Tron but have been eyeing up a Fatman recently, wondering if it's worth spending the money to try one out.
14. Hello, Anyone used one of these? There's the usual complete lack of bass demos on youtube. Emailed Malekko to ask for bass sample clips but got no response. Anyone got an idea of what they sound like with bass? Cheers George
15. Yeh, can't see it in the photo either, but have read several reviews that mention it, so guessing it's there somewhere!
16. Thanks Intime-Nick, the spirit xxl is actually the cable that I'd got my eye on, good to know it works well with the Hicons. Kingbollock, from what I've read I gather that the Hicon pancake plugs have 2 solder tabs inside, so no need to solder to the case. Seems to be a plus side that a few people have mentioned in reviews of them. Thanks for the input guys.
17. Does a collet type clamp hold the cable a lot tighter? Presumably as it will be on a pedal board and not moved about much once it's set up, then the crimp type would be sufficient?
18. Ok, thanks, I'll probably give them a go. From what I've read the build quality sounds pretty decent.
19. Hi Fretmeister, how long have you been using them for?
20. Hello, Going to be making up some patch leads for a board. Have been looking around and saw these Hicon right angle jacks on Thomann: http://www.thomann.de/gb/hicon_klinke_hij63ma01.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/hicon_flunderklinkenstecker_winkel.htm?ref=prod_rel_189803_3 Anyone had any experience with these? I was wondering how they compare with Neutrik jacks in terms of sound quality and durability/reliability. They look lower profile than the Neutriks so seems they will save a bit of space on the board. Thanks!
21. Generally found them to be good and worth the money. Really like the Lofi Machine, good sound for what I wanted and worked well with bass. Found the Electric Lady (Electric Mistress clone I think) to be a bit over the top, not a very subtle sound compared with other flangers that I've used, but depends what you like I guess. The only one I tried that I really didn't think had anything going for it was the Bass Sweeper, (clone of some envelope filter, forget which one though). I thought it lacked any sort of oomph and was very dull sounding, couldn't get anything interesting out of it. On the whole though the pedals do seem to be worth trying out considering the price and the size.

EQD Bit Commander

I got a bit commander to mess about with but to be honest never got a sound out of it that I thought was usable on bass, just a bit too much messiness. I ended up using a mooer micro lofi machine for that sort of thing. doesn't have any octave options but it's got a nice clean crispy sound on bass. Let me know if you want to try out the bit commander though, could lend or sell you mine as I think I'm unlikely to use it much more.
