  1. Technically there shouldn't be any trouble matching these but I do notice two things: The Amp is pictured on a workbench. Doesn't have to mean anything but could be that the seller has tinkered with it. The settings on the amp are a recipe for low definition low end drone with both VLE and VPF at noon with the bass cranked. Furthermore it's going to disappoint in power with the gain set that low. Set it to where the Clip light just comes on when playing the loudest notes, then roll it back a tiny bit. Maybe add a dollie (plank on wheels) for that cab like it's sitting on in the pic, if it's not sold with that included
  2. Consensus on where the In/Out/Power/Other sockets go on all equipment. All of it! Left to right or right to left, at the front or back or one side I don't care, just standardise it! 😡
  3. Hmm maybe I just prefer drummers who can't read but do have a sense of humour. Apologies for the derailment!
  4. That's asking a lot of drummers
  5. Drive is not Gain. Just like Gain is not Volume. The names are different because the operation is different.
  6. Verellen meatsmoke tube preamp and a cali76 compact deluxe, it gives a nice saturated texture to my tone
  7. This will go a long way: if your band is very loud it'll need some help from the PA. Speaking of PA, a Beringer BD21 straight to desk is a reliable way of getting a decent signal into the venue. Cheap and just good. Peavey amps work great and can be affordable, it all depends on the rest of your band how much oomph you need. You could see if this is still available if you're still looking:
  8. Yep, those work great.
  9. Sennheiser HD 25-II
  10. The fundamental isn't the driving factor in bass guitar amplification: The timbre of the second harmonic in relation to the fundamental and the higher harmonics is what we commonly refer to as 'tone'. With the dominant harmonic at 61,.. Hz even the ampeg fridge will produce a pleasant sounding low B.

The Electro Harmonix Nano Battalion doesn't have the di out but is a nice toneshaper. I have the big version that also has the noise gate (which is the only noisy component, ironically) and d.i.
  12. None. Live albums never seem to resonate with me. Actually, this may be the one exception:
  13. I keep forgetting how many people here play in functions and cover bands. Big difference with originals bands.
  14. Wear the shirt, believe in yourself. Can you imagine being ashamed to wear a representation of your identity? Ridiculous. Wear the shirt of the band your seeing, I love spotting fans with our shirt on!
  15. A stripe of masking tape on the back of the neck at 5th fret, and any others of use. Eyes are for chumps!
  16. Looks like there's enough wood left to just cut off the damaged bit.
  17. I copied "Gretsch Junior Jet" and "truss rod" from your post and this video was returned by the internet browsing programme. It involves something with six thin strings, I'd be cautious if I were you. https://youtu.be/wOMoyZG7pw4
  18. Huge improvement over Fender's droopy turd design imo. Also consistent quality control over Fender's 'you'll take what you get and happily overpay for it' approach.
  19. Oh these guys?
  20. Impressively good band names: Gate Keepers probably already exists Flaunters of Grim could be Indie/Shoegaze rock Consumate Professionals could be P-funk or ska/oi Semantics is for instrumental math metal/fusion Got any more? These are gold!
  21. Counterpoint: when you're sad, your favourite sad music can cheer you up!
  22. Exactly this. (No idea who this is, but the keytar is not helping in making it interesting to find out)
  23. Scott's bear lessons, teaching bass slapping to brown bears.
  24. I vote Yamaha at that price point. I don't think they even build bad ones.
