  1. Huge improvement over Fender's droopy turd design imo. Also consistent quality control over Fender's 'you'll take what you get and happily overpay for it' approach.
  2. Oh these guys?
  3. Impressively good band names: Gate Keepers probably already exists Flaunters of Grim could be Indie/Shoegaze rock Consumate Professionals could be P-funk or ska/oi Semantics is for instrumental math metal/fusion Got any more? These are gold!
  4. Counterpoint: when you're sad, your favourite sad music can cheer you up!
  5. Exactly this. (No idea who this is, but the keytar is not helping in making it interesting to find out)
  6. Scott's bear lessons, teaching bass slapping to brown bears.
  7. I vote Yamaha at that price point. I don't think they even build bad ones.
  8. They're faster and they look it. The Italians could make hypercars that look like a volvo 240 but what would be the point? Overalls would work fine for a grand gala, but a tuxedo or dress suit is expected to fit the ambiance. Getting in character is part of the fun of playing extreme music. Having said that, a good bridge pickup and/or effective tone control can help put some bite in the tone. Metal bass isn't clanky per se but generally has a bit of an edge on top of a solid round tone.
  9. Can you guys get a private chat going or something and please stop messing up other people's topics? It's very annoying having to scan over your nonsense and derailing of good threads.
  10. Gain is the level of the signal going into the EQ section and then on to the power section. If you turn that down there's nearly no signal for the power stage to amplify. So turn up the gain to the point of breakup (drive) that sounds best to your ears, then turn up the volume to the desired loudness, then adjust the EQ to fix any acoustic issues. Otherwise it's like driving a car with a clamp on the fuel line.
  11. Ew twitter. No thanks
  12. Stats and more pics: http://cellarguitars.com/index.php/cellar-v/ This is it for me. Long scale flying V fiver, emg active humbucker to volume, no tone control. No fingerboard, the frets go straight into the neck through laminates. Brass Warwick nut, bridge and frets.
  13. Perhaps overly obvious, but why not pick songs that are nearer to her comfortable range?
  14. I would hate to go out and see a band that didn't like what they were doing. That would ruin my evening and destroy all faith in the band. Don't be a poser, have a chat with the lads.
  15. Beer
  16. I love this deeply
  17. Nah they're probably using chatgpt
  18. Is this the appropriate place for the 'your mom' jokes?
  19. If I were to describe that band to my metalhead comrades I'd say that was 'Death Metal' . Great band and a great player!
  20. A pin drop?
  21. https://necrotaph.bandcamp.com/album/thrailer-thrash?t=3 Enjoy, or not, we are not your supervisor.
  22. Went to see Gogol Bordello at the Melkweg in Amsterdam last week. What an amazing band to see live!
  23. 1 bass. Just the main 5 string.
