  1. All I can say is get the maruszczyk padded strap to go with it. I'm not using any other strap ever again.
  2. One of you doesn't rinse in the sink
  3. So they're good for metal! Step one: turn yourself down. Step two: all of the above.
  4. Where are they talking to Rick Beato? Is this just a love letter or misposted and should be in the 'bad jokes' thread? No hate for Sting here but let's not pretend he invented sliced bread.
  5. I don't get the fuss, if you're happy playing a skip rescue and that does it for you that's great. If you have the urge and means to politely fondle a 10k art piece, sure why not.
  6. I wish he'd taken design clues from the body to copy in the headstock. Also having the pickup wire visible on the front is a poor choice, could have been even cleaner. Other than these two gripes, very interesting concept!
  7. It's interesting stuff! As benh said they have to fit pretty snug to give the full benefit. Indeed they leave the ears open. Word of caution, as you can't be exactly sure of the calibrated volume level, it's difficult to determine how loud is damaging to the cochlea. A novel idea is the clip-on headphones by auricle which have just run their Kickstarter campaign. https://auricle.io
  8. Take out the electronics if possible, then soak in epoxy to stabilise the charred bits. Mount new electric bits and off you go, unique instrument!
  9. I believe GG alinn has already been mentioned. Sex pistols? Chotza? There's quite a list.
  10. For a band doing RATM and Tool covers (quite well) that would surprise me.
  11. But but but any energy transferred from the string to the body is lost tone. The string moves through the magnetic field of the pickup right? Any energy that is transferred away from the string motion is not moving through the magnetic field. Now then, higher mass requires more energy to move. Absorbing less energy from the string. Leaving more timbre for the magnetic field to read. If by vintage you mean a dark, slightly muted, warm tone then yes, losing a bunch of energy (or information) will do that. But not through a high mass bridge.
  12. Great efficiency at the cost of social contribution. One of the worst employers in the modern world. I've stopped using all Amazon services this year, just can't justify it anymore. edit: the black beauties should last a long time, pound wise!
  13. On these threads, nobody asks what sound you're after or what music you play. People just want their preferences validated I guess. I'm no different but I'll give a little background at least. I play thrash metal, use steel round wound strings and change them every year when I give my bass a good clean, oil the fretboard and change the 9v batteries in the preamp. I use Dr Strings DDT heavies. Iron Maiden's Steve Harris changes his flats before every gig apparently.
  14. My mate got married to this My wife however choose this one: Yes she's a redhead 😏
  15. If their isotopes are now active for thousands of years they lengthened their lives, not shortened.
  16. I used Schallers for a good while but invariably they started squeezing and showing signs of wear in the cup part. Now using Loxx on my electric basses for 5 years and couldn't be happier! The hollow body has Grolsch locks. Free bonus with the pilsner The only straplock that fell apart on me were Ernie Ball.
  17. If they touch your eardrums you'll feel it I promise. That would be too deep.
  18. Metal is NOT rock music, although they are both popular (pop) music
  19. A computer hooked up to the Scarlet would do the processing right? Still, use the normal outputs to connect to the FX return on your amp.
