  1. For total freedom there's nothing like it. In my jumping around days (before taking leadvocals as well as bass) sometimes I landed on my cable either unplugging mid-song or breaking the wire at the plug. With wireless systems becoming both more reliable and affordable I'd go for it.
  2. If your current 'ray is a single humbucker try a HH, if it it's a 2 band eq try a 3band... There is variety and choice available 🙂
  3. Depends on the room, the song, sound from the other instruments etc. Nothing wrong with a bit of honk to lend some body to the overall sound. Odds are good that it's not even that noticeable in the audience, let alone in a bad way.
  4. A little amendment: just because tinnitus originates in the brain doesn't make it a hallucination. It's an actual signal that's send back to the cochlea and can be recorded with the right equipment. There's just no point in doing so, there's nothing we can do with that information. A broader signal is usually more effective in masking the tinnitus sounds when necessary, and normally only used until one learns to accept and live with the noise.
  5. That's insulting to the greatness of Faith No More.
  6. I've been GASsing for a Mayones Patriot for years, maybe one day one will replace the Spector.
  7. On this side of the Big Wet Thing there's a distinct difference between Punk and Punk Rock. The Exploited do Punk. The Ramones, Blondie and Green Day do Punk Rock. But this was about Heavy Metal. It needs to pretend to be heavy to be HM. Hair Metal and shock rock are not heavy metal.
  8. While ratamahatta doesn't mean anything in any language it's a great song, and reminded me of these Brazilians:
  9. Amp/cab is a very sub-optimal situation for amplification in a domestic environment. Monitoring your output could easily be managed with a mixer and powered studio monitors if good headphones are somehow not an option. If done digitally it would be very easy to add any wanted effects or processing in that chain too.
  10. Tears for Fears' "Sowing the seeds of love" is just about jizzing in public. So many hit songs should be binned if you scrutinize the contents enough.
  11. I replaced my old EB stingray5 with a custom built flying V model my guitarist made for me http://cellarguitars.com/index.php/celcellar-v
  12. I was directed this way to introduce Fleddy Melculy
  13. And for something completely different: However: Although: But: Also: Unfortunately:
  14. Perhaps you misread, it is indeed mostly the popular music that has the creepy sexual predator content. Most metal lyrics call out shocking human behaviour IME
  15. There's always Party Cannon. The choice is between innocent pop music which is adults singing about how badly they want to make love to teenagers, hip hop about how badly they want to do crime, metal about how people should stop doing awful thing (and naming all those thing in gross detail), or jazz about skeee bop bop dowop paah.
  16. Correct, might also want to check out Sinister, Gorefest and Pestilence if you like going Dutch.
  17. This list represents a major part of my formative years! A few personal additions because I'm feeling nostalgic, in no particular order:
  18. Hence their popularity on the festival circuit
  19. Dissapointing to read the disrespect on here for other people's likes/fave music. Much goodness in this thread too luckily. There's no heavy enough for me personally, although extreme and heavy are not synonyms. While the Zorn type free jazz influences make for extreme music it often lacks the impact to be heavy I think.
