  1. Paints come off and the scratchplate turned a funny colour and all! I'd be having a chat!
  2. Songs that radically changed the world for me: Psalm 69 - Ministry Cenotaph - Bolt Thrower (still tugs at my heartstrings) Internal Bleeding - Obituary (actually the whole a-side of Slowly We Rot, I never turned it off before the end. Internal Bleeding is just the first song)
  3. Don't lie. Fibs will always come back to haunt you. Either give him a second chance or tell him how it's not working out.
  4. That was a hard watch, what an annoying fellow. Spot on message though!
  5. a cheese board? You can always fill any cavities with epoxy.
  6. 15 year old me found inspiration with Corinne from Acrostichon and Jan-Chris from Gorefest among many others:
  7. I thought 'combat jazz' was an obscure martial art!
  8. Hmm my setup is iRig hd2 in to a 2018 iPad pro and haven't noticed latency in a sense that it interfered with my timing or the track I'm playing along to. Victor Wooten uses iRig to iPad on stage, surely he wouldn't if it was laggy? Maybe it's a solvable problem.
  9. Deal with it like an adult. Sit down with the both you, have drink of choice, talk about situation. Move from there.
  10. iRig and an iPad gives me a LOT of options.
  11. Opinions were asked and I gave one. I also share what little experience I've had with these tuners. Which are you giving me a hard time for?
  12. All of them look ugly and unprofessional. I have a Thomann branded one at home and it works barely.
  13. What would a JJ offer that dual soapbars don't? Seems unnecessary retrograde to me?
  14. Where in the 20th century every decade had it's own mind-blowing new music that the parents would scold their kids for listening to, from the 80s to the 90s it became more about technology, refining techniques and pushing existing styles to their extremes.
  15. 7. Different colour silk per string looks horrible. My favourite strings don't use silk at all, so I got lucky there! 8. You can rock out with your bass at any hight, Entwistle for instance. I like to play at about the hight of my pockets and being 1.92cm have not had much difficulty finding good straps. EMGs sound good at 9v, great at 18v IMO. I can't seriously tell the difference between 18 and 24v on them (my 2 main basses have EMGs). Good thread!
  16. Great for finished maple (lacquered or what have you). Maybe some windex on a microfibre towel or a toothbrush to get the gunk from the frets. Treat unfinished, oiled or waxed maple boards with tru-oil, gunstock oil or Danish oil. The neck can be waxed with gunstock wax, like MusicMan does. I used Birchwood Casey gunstock oil and wax on my SR5.
  17. It is not the same substance, please do not use food items on your bass 😆
  18. Today is the 11th of January, is it really coming up on summer already? I'd say there is time to train a replacement yet
  19. Thick Blue Line Police Box Overdirt Hyaaaargh Why did I walk in to this room again?
  20. Blimey Rick Astley hardly aged at all! Good on him. I didn't really like any of the artists on, quite a dull affair.
  21. All the effects are optimised for guitar, I think bass just gets the clean pass-through. Andertons video mentions it in between lines.
