  1. Not really though. Congratulations, you found a bass that feels and looks great to you! Now you can get to testing what your ideal electronic situation is. Try basses with the different pick-ups and preamps and select the ones that suit you. What you once paid for the bass is irrelevant, what you want and can spend to build what you want counts, I think. If you sell the thing and get something else you don't know if you'll have a bass you can work with. Good luck deciding what to do!
  2. In my experience, yes it is. You are all in it making a night out for the audience. Have a chat, make sure you're not all covering the same song etc. Needless to say that singer's a buttmunch for the public dressing down. Have an issue? Resolve it with those involved.
  3. All fender body shapes. Boring, unimaginative and definitely unattractive! Add to that most single cuts but I like the Les Paul shape. Oh and the Warwick basses with the dildo top horn!
  4. But I already got my kidney out...
  5. Oh stinky poo, what do I sell? Anyone need a kidney?
  6. I'll take a st.Vincent like that blue one with the white pickguard in the video. In a bass HH 5 string please!

    Eh?

What's PC got to do with it? Unbelievable.

    Eh?

A song is poetry in a rythm with a melody. If you can enjoy two out of three that's not that bad. Note that sign language contains more information than just gestures for letters. Lastly, many 'deaf' people are not deaf. Many still hear certain frequencies, but have a hearing loss of say 80 dB or more.
  9. Ha, got it. The second sample sounds slightly more controlled and a bit more balanced throughout the frequencies, so reveals a little more complex harmonics/timbre. However the Cort gets so close you could just get the one that feels better!
  10. I NEED NOTHING! However a Spector lx5 in trans red keeps haunting my dreams.
  11. It may have been a filler show in between two bigger dates. Better to make some money than none at all! A day wasted gets expensive right quick.
  12. The Verellen meat smoke preamp pedal is my dirt Walhalla. Also a swift kick in the kids' college fund.
  13. If one needs changing the others do too.
  14. The neck/fretboard is one piece through-and-through laminate of bird's eye maple, solid carbon, padouk, carbon, bird's eye maple. The truss rod was inserted before the laminates were joined, although useless, that carbon has no flex. It sounds like a stingray on steroids and beef. Not quite as much honk as my SR5 (in a good way) with more fundamental and higher overtones. A richer, lively sound, easy to hear in a dense mix and sustain for hours. Fairly high output, drives pedals and amp well.
  15. Got mine this year! Cellar guitars
  16. Start collecting 2x12 cabs if you want a haulable rig of your own. At 8Ohms you will give yourself options to mix&match. The boss ls-2 is great for splitting a signal, combining different effects chains, etc. The BDi21/VXL/sansamp are great at a natural driven tone with a little edge. M80 is a very useful unit but I tested it against the ZVEX Distortron which retains more melodic tone in the dirt, and doesn't kill lows if you don't want it to. You may get a lot of use out of an octaver in the setup you are describing. Whrn building your sound before the amp you only need to make it louder. I'd recommend a nice clean amp, no need to schlep a 70lb tube monstrosity unless you're dead set on one. Have some play days at local music stores, try what's out there these days. Leave your wallet at home 😉
  17. Very nice! The B.C Rich warlock would fit in there too 😉
