  1. The input decides how loud you want to be when hitting the threshold and start compression. The output makes up the gain loss from compressing, and is usually set that your overall sound is equally loud with the comp on or off.
  2. It's not religion or alternative medicine, it is a clearly described, measurable mechanism. Personally, I'm with Skoll on this one.
  3. Compress to impress!
  4. Buurman & Buurman, or Pat&Mat as they're called in Czech Republic. They're awesome! (And my boy is at home with the flu)
  5. I can only recommend it
  6. Yeah right. Grown ups don'play music. Everyone knows that!
  7. Really? Sack him even though there may be -relationship troubles -threat of income loss -death or illness of a loved one -mental health issues -brexitstress -a crush on the bandleader and now his heart is broken -insomnia -anything else -none of the above.... Have a chat, he may need a friend.
  8. So get in touch. There's probably more going on in the guys life, find out what's up.
  9. What setting are we on about? Folksongs in the pub? Weddings and function where punters need to show their strictly skills? Progrock in small to medium venues? Musical numbers? Thrash Metal? Sometimes (quite a lot I've noticed) we forget that we all have a different frame of reference. Most bands I know rehearse their songs the way they need to be played on the night.
  10. A bit melodramatic don't you think? The amp can handle 4Ohm no problem. You'd hear the speaker distorting before anything serious happens.
  11. Just pay the Piper and get it done with.
  12. If I read the info right the extension speaker would be used instead of the native combo speaker? So you use the combo for small stages/rehearsal but the amp could drive a 8x10 at larger venues? The mi-bass extension cab would be used with the stand alone mi-bass top.
  13. Just need to mention Jo Bench. Very awesome.
  14. All of the Judgement Night soundtrack. Awesome though!
  15. This
  16. Tot a malmsteen wannabe, or any rock or metal player, the songs you name are a yawnfest and would rather gnaw their ears and digits off than play them. You may think that sort of music is the dogs' shiny bits but to many of us it's lift music's anal seepage. People eh?
  17. That's what I told her!
  18. What knobs?
  19. Warwick
  20. Could be fun delving deeper in to the history of the brand if you think this
  21. Fender should be shot for continuing the snot-blob design.
  22. I'm looking at purchasing a Apogee Jam for ipad interface, looks solid. Anyone use one?
  23. Not really though. Congratulations, you found a bass that feels and looks great to you! Now you can get to testing what your ideal electronic situation is. Try basses with the different pick-ups and preamps and select the ones that suit you. What you once paid for the bass is irrelevant, what you want and can spend to build what you want counts, I think. If you sell the thing and get something else you don't know if you'll have a bass you can work with. Good luck deciding what to do!
  24. Guy? With a rack like that?
  25. In my experience, yes it is. You are all in it making a night out for the audience. Have a chat, make sure you're not all covering the same song etc. Needless to say that singer's a buttmunch for the public dressing down. Have an issue? Resolve it with those involved.
