1.
Would a pair of old in-ear headphones protect me any ? What makes those metal ones that keep spamming me on Fbook any different
In-ear headphones are not made to keep sound pressure out. Get some that are designed for protecting your ears. They are cheaper and less painful in the long run.
2.
Interesting blog article by a Brit muso ; https://innerpieces....after-tinnitus/
Great write-up, better worded than I could have done! Also reminds us that hearing and everything associated with hearing is a bit subjective. What one finds hardly a problem for someone else is a panic situation. I'm hearing more positive feedback on TRT from professionals and patients alike, worth taking seriously. Good health everyone, don't let the bastards beat you down!
3. I like the reversed headstock! going to get old tuning it fast though I think. Nice colour too
4.
Mine are pretty good. What did all of you guys used to do before we had tuners?
Primary school
5. Dunk 'm in peanutbutter
6.
My basses don't go out of tune under normal circumstances - I let them settle when I arrive and we're setting up PA, etc, then check them before soundcheck. I can't remember the last time I had to re-tune during a gig.
This. I only play the SR5 live though.
7. Agree with all of the above. You get one set of ears for life, and they are damn hard to fix. Tinnitus is caused by a neurological problem: the brain is no longer receiving certain information from the inner ear, this is not normal so it decides to make some sh*t up, filling in the frequencies that have gone missing. Hearing aids are not like glasses. They do not compensate for a slack eardrum, they just try to make the most important frequencies loud enough so they can be perceived over the damaged parts of the hearing system. There's much more to tell but I've run out of time for now... Protect your hearing from sustained loud noises, always!
8.
. The rockabilly stuff was poor.
Heartily disagree.
9. 440 is clearly superior to all your lesser tunings. Accept no lower pitch!
10. More on bands and such in amsterdam: https://www.iamsterdam.com/en/visiting/whats-on/music
11. Big improvement over the fender growth headstock, the colors matching better than the natural. Still, there's room for improvement. I like the m7 headstock, it's a direct copy of MTD.
12.
Good for Metal?
Yes http://youtu.be/IyQOw-_H4yE
13. Kustom also has decent weighty stuff for not a lot.
14. Uhmm no I guess whatever this month was. I really shouldn't be allowed on the internet before my first coffee. April it is!
15. For these last days of march, Verellen amps has a 25% discount on all their products, and including custom work! Happy 10year anniversary Ben!
16. Leiden is a lovely city, a boat trip on the canals, museums aplenty (Naturalis with some excellent huge dinosaur skeletons, Corpus for a trip through the human body, museum Volkenkunde has amazing exhibits for instance). Leiden-info.com has info on the nightlife and restaurants etc. Contact them to see if they have an english version of the website An hours drive is Edwin van Huik's bassconnection in Hilversum http://www.connectionbult.com/wp/ Excellent shop Bax has shops in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Goes. Not bass specific though. There's plenty more to see and do in Leiden https://www.visitleiden.nl/en/plan-your-visit/information/tourist-information-centre And most other citys are 30-60 minutes away by train. By car, avoid driving between 7-9am and 5-6pm. Enjoy!
17. We started out as Cataract in the late nineties, turned out the name was taken. Then we were Terror for about three months and 9/11 happened. Some brainstorming brought me to Necrotaph. An epitaph is about someone's greatest achievements during their life, we write about the remarkable moments when they're dead 💀😃
18. Nearly all of Psychobilly. Stray cats, meteors, tiger army, nekromantix, horrorpops, frenzy, batmobile... The Reverend Horton Heat is one of the few I caught in the 90s
19. Bring the Mrs to your appointment, affirmation of your problems may help her understand what you're dealing with.
20. Let's not lose sight of the goal here, two 210s and two 212sdriven by two amps. A 210+212 stack on each side of the drummert. Epic win is yours!
21. There may be a reasonable explanation and simple fix. Or there might not be. Stressing about it will not help cure it but will keep your focus on the problem, making it seem worse than it may actually be. Deep breaths, do what you can, accept what you can't change for the moment.
22. With all ear related problems more serious than earwax or a common cold, get a ENT referral/appointment asap! A GP doesn't have the specialist knowledge required for our complex hearing system. Inner ear problems usually have nothing to do with wax build-up, please get specialist advise and ignore the internet. I will graduate as an audiometrist in July, and I say don't f*** about with your hearing, it's damn hard to fix.

24.
Why does the BBC not keep its promise of delivering 5.1 surround? I only ever get the pro-logic logo on my receiver, never Dolby D or DTS. My understanding from the BBC's own HD TV promo was that they took great lengths to record in surround format. Pro-logic M sounds like surround but it isn't actually 6 channels... or is it? Curious.
"You don't do heavy metal in Dobly."
