1. That's why you moved to france then? No need to understand anyone anyway? Rocking circumaural acoustic enhancement devices?
2.
30 to 40 what a load of bollocks I know I'm deaf this is a far better test, mimics what audiologist use https://hearingtest.online/
Far, far better DIY test! Well done for posting that Paul.
3. I was listening to it on my phone, it can't even produce half those frequencies! Without calibration the test is worthless. Gave me 20-30 btw, I'm 41 with healthy tinnitus. My hearing is more like a 55 year old would typically have, I know this because I test patient's hearing for the ENT and Audiologist in hospital.
4.
So I think we can conclude that the best bass is whatever you like (probably avoid BC Rich and Dean though!).
And nowt wrong wirh a B.C. Rich mockingbird, bich or eagle either. Dean does some great affordable basses for all styles too
5. Always good fun though, Yngwie.
6. Double humbucker, maybe a spector legend?
7. The cheapest one you can afford.
8. Meh, I'm good.
9.
You must have fingers of iron, my friend
I love how tonaly coherent the strings sound, and they don't flubber about.
10. 55, 75, 95, 115, 135 G, D, A, E, A
11. FastFret. Wipe on, wipe off, win karate match.
12. Thunderbird surprised me most of all in a positive way, even though the headstock is mounted the wrong way round! Woulld love to hear a Spector and Ibanez soundgear added to this line-up.
13. Ashdown's bassometer is bright as a thousand suns AND features a VU. I took it off my board to save space and I never do daylight gigs.
14.
it's not like I'm playing Death Metal.
Well there's yer problem!
15. Nothing is sacred.
16. As death/thrash metalhead since age 13, turning 41 next week and have searched but found only a handfull of jazz tunes that mean anything to me. Many thrash/death outfits take jazz inspiration into their music, Pestilence and Death come to mind for instance. I picked up psychobilly as a distraction next to my usual fare. Not intending to slow down anytime soon.
17. Great looking rig! Small stature, huge tone!
18.
I use ER 10's, but, my hearing is damaged in the the speech range so using ear plugs makes the problem even worse (have to take out my hearing aids as well), never have got used to the detached feeling when using them tbh
You could give the flare audio aluminum/titanium plugs a try. They block the ear canal completely and leave you with only conductive sound perception, resulting in a more even signal to the cochlea. My leadguitar player loves his, though I haven't tried them myself. Edit: this is a heavy dB reduction, maybe too much for quiet bands.
19. No, you get DDTs and stick with 'em
20. It will get better over time, but ears are most sensitive in the 1500-3500Hz range, where most speech is heard. That is where music sounds most lively, but also where good earplugs offer the most protection. I use 15dB pluggerz at the moment, they're fine. Putting anything in your ears will affect the sound but these are as good as it gets.
21. DR Strings for me, the DDT's. Only the low B gets dropped to A, and I get a nice even sound across all strings. Clean them with FastFret after every practise, a set last me about a year.
22. No Doubt. I'm just a girl or You're just a girl, when sung with male vocals?
23. Either are good value, or try a spector.
