1.
makes the world a wee place.
Smells like it anyway
2. Try some before you buy one. Also, I find 810s are easier to move about than 410s generally, the latter are often an awkward size to shift.
3. Ayup, get your favourite 810. Buy second hand. Give it a year, then see how it fits your wants and needs. Don't like it after all? If you looked after it a bit you'll have no trouble selling it for nearly what you paid for it.
4.
Habitually on my feet Sitting down to learn bits but when it comes to actually playing it through... Get up and get jiggy with it 😁
Exactly ! I don't get the 'same strap length sitting down as standing' view? Optimal posture and access to the notes you need to play are king surely? A position where you can keep your wrists as straight as possible and play with the least effort.
5. The 750x is still my main amp, faultless after six years or so. WorkingPro 700 is my backup, never needed it!
6. Honestly, if the work was done by a good luthier, I'd be surprised if it affected resale value by more than 15%.
7. I had a Hughes & Ketner combo. 75W I think, covered in blue batskin. Lasted until I joined a proper band, blew up in two rehearsals.
8. Dr.Duck's axwax
9. Good links re: WD40 , thanks! Interesting gorgomyte: a website dedicated to selling a product without one image of said product. oO
10. WD40 is fish oil, not mineral, at least originally. Neither is lemon oil afaik, unless you have a reliable source? What polish? The stuff on your shoes? I tried the Ernie Ball wonder wipes the other day, one for the fretboard, one for the body/finished parts, one for strings. Worked fine but didn't last long. In the end what works for you, works.
11. How about first notes played on a different instrument? Without the characteristics of the original sound, what changes?
12. IME birchwood casey gunstock oil should not stick, not even a little bit.
13. A 1u rackhead, presumably high quality, 800w in to 4 Ohms, all options you would want in a clean amp. Also, it would free enough rack space to make a drawer for my pedalboard. One less item to haul!
14.
What is that ratio as a number?
42

Which compressor?
+1
+2 Every other month or so I try turning it off for a song, only to rush back to switch it on!
17. Combine tours and do a split EP! Chances like this don't happen very often.
18. I use gunstock oil annually on the maple of the stingray, Dr Duck's Axwax on everything else. Once or twice a year is plenty, I find.
19.

I enjoy that show on youtube! Prime example of crazy 'muricans having fun with scrap. Hope your bass comes back to your liking!

21. Cussing at people cannot be love. That is (to me) a sick and twisted view, Blue. Suppose someone acted like that to their children? You'd call child support. If someone went off on their girl like that in a bar? Build people, don't destroy them.
22. It is abuse. Like beating your wife 'because you love her' like locking up your kids 'teach a lesson'. It's abuse and we know better than that now.
