DR's DDT strings are my favourite as I prefer a heavier D and G for tonal balance. I drop the low B to A with no change in characteristics.

I'm addicted to my SR5, Verellen meatsmoke preamp, MXR bass comp. The SWR head I'd have to listen to some rivals (Glockenklang heartcore, ebs fapner, Mesa M6 or bigblock) to hear if they sound like I want them to. Otherwise the hunt for a second hand 750x is on. A 412 cab is mandatory. Basstown is out of business I think, but again Mesa or Glockenklang may be able to substitute. Tuner, envelope filter and power supply do not worry me.

Ashdown Bass-o-meter. It's huge, ugly, and will light up a black hole!
