Why are singers (generally) averse to lessons/instruction ?
Left Foot replied to Coilte's topic in General Discussion
Are you playing covers? I don't think a lot of people are that bothered about sounding like other singers tbh, I can understand why to. Imagine having to sound like 20 different singers in one set, and then having them play you a recording when you decide you wanna try something different - fun huh. -
A while ago I came home and found a note from a delivery driver saying my parcel (mandolin). was in the green wheelie bin. Just as I read it I heard the bin being collected and had to chase the guy to the wagon to retrieve it.
If true that's even more shocking.

Its only recently Ive actually thought of dialing it back a little and as my signal has three boost/gain pedals there's hardly a drop in volume but the saturation of distortion and gain changes ALOT. So much so, its now another thing I have to think about, I have four settings for two pedals and a bass to play just ten songs and Im an 'always on' type of player.
Exactly this. Thank heavens I mostly use flats! It's all about sweat too, I knew a guitar tech who had to change his diet because by the time he's put new strings on and done some tweaking the strings weren't looking too good. I eat a really healthy diet, perhaps too much scotch, but I doubt that's what does it. Makes me think it's just my body chemistry and ive met a fair few players with the same issue. One poor guy used to 'slime' all over his basses...
Thats is they most disgusting and unwillingly rock and roll thing I've every had the misfortune of hearing without it coming from an amp or library of drinking/drugs/women anecdotes.

Thomann selling Harley Benton basses as 'Decoration only'
Left Foot replied to Annoying Twit's topic in Bass Guitars
Well, this is exactly what I thought would start to happen with all these deko basses beginning to get through to ebay. There's even one of the dead cheap 450berhinger heads that cost 100 delivered on ebay for a starting price of 90 plus 20 delivery. People don't miss a trick do they, it's a shame everyone wants to profiteer like this really -
Was... Past tense. Dang, I'll have to keep and eye and ear open for one of these in a natural finish. Also, that maple neck with block inlays And tele headstock, wow.
-
so, Im thinking that I should save up for a fender but I like od looks and scratch plate designs, anyway, does anyone know if these are copied or sold like the custom tele? I have a Hondo II with a single humbucker and it is crazy good, I just think this is my dream bass... Id love a natural finish one of these bad boys. Is this more likely going to be a project, or are these around on the market? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/fender-custom-shop-telecaster-bass-n.o.s.

Bloody he'll, I'm missing these and it's depressing. Although tbh I didn't know about HB products before and they have an OK rep and are cheap anyway. I might just get a non deko as knowing my like I'll be the guy who gets a mule and doesn't know how to correct it. Nice one guys. -

Well, I got the PJ4. Atleast I've ordered one but PayPal says the merchant hasn't taken receipt of funds. I hope I get one, I ordered at about 12.10 let's see what happens. -
Really, WANT!
-
Would this do 800W into 2 Ohms? Or is that lateral thinking just bad thinking?

Are they really bad basses? Ive noticed no chat on here about them, even at only £28 something quid!! -
I can't imagine I could ever need anything else other than this and my P-bass. Even my PJ only really gets used if I have a rough gig where I don't fancy taking the Precision. My plan is to use the Fodera most of the time, including all practice, however there are obviously some gigs which only ever want a Precision (one band leader in particular lol). Si
Dude you gotta get insurance for this. That bass does look like a work of art, what is the black box in between the two pick ups?
Is it important to the sound? No, in my opinion it's not important, and no conjecture posted here in the nearly 8 years I've been here have convinced me otherwise.
Cool, you're right I should probably hit the search button. Aren't some woods heavier and doesn't that help with sound and vibration though?
-
This level of instrument is waste on me but it looks very well finished. Id be scared to touch it tbh.
-
What's the differences between the different woods. Is the fret board the only time a tone wood is important to the sound? What are the differences? thanks.
-
Personally, I cant believe the need to think this through. Do it ! EDIT: Ive sacrificed a lot more for a hell of a lot less. Just my sure you take everyones name and number.
-
Also, have a look into the foxrox Octron. Another pedal I wish i hadn't moved on
-
POG all day long. I was really unimpressed by the OC3 and sold it after giving it a good 6 month bedding into period, I just didnt like it. If you've ever used the octave down on an ashdown amp, it sound like that, just slightly glitchier. I have heard others use the POG and I have a HOG which both sound sweet as a nut mate. The good thing about the hog is that all octaves are clean, not sure if there a little drive on the upper octave with a POG. good luck.
