1. I still love my modded fix'd fuzz, I really should do a demo or get something down from rehearsals but I always just play and put it off.
2.
What causes someone to progress to a stage where a cheap bass is no longer 'enough', and they must have a more expensive bass.
I don't know, I'm not there yet.
3. Hey now, I PM'd you and did not get a reply! check again dude.
4. B.assmaster still not gone! really..? Have a bump!
5. I cant find a clip online but I remember gruff rhys wearing a power ranger helmet during the super furry animals e4 on the beach gig years back. he sounded amazing and I don't think the kids jumping out really noticed he was taking the piss.
6. GREAT PRICE for the malekko here!
7. I have the rat tail with feedback mod, momentary switch, its fun.

Delay?

I use gaz's old dispatch master, I only really use a touch of reverb in band but want to use a tight delay on dry bass for a hindi rd burman type bass line, haven't found my moment yet.
9. LPF on the two fuzz tones and final blended signal which gets the tone you want whilst using the fuzzes to create fuzz 'nuance'. LPF on the higher tone as didn't want the tone to seem separate from bass tone with fizz but its not that fizzy at all. There's some setting where it sounds slightly pitchmoded because the two tones are balanced out smoothly and you can hear each voice, then there's really overdriven beefy tones that lead to the self oscillating gated bit where the note breaks up during sustain and gets subtle glitch fade. I will post sample when I get it together. cheers kev
10. Posted this in other thread and thought it belongs here! This beauty arrived Tuesday! Based on fix'd fuzz and with added filter controls on both fuzz tones and the final output, this covers all sorts of fuzz tones. Can go from really compressed driven phat bass to nice blended mellow fuzz tones when running singular tone, sounds better the louder it gets just begs to be turned to eleven! It self oscillates, a nice surprise, at extreme settings and THE most responsive fuzz ever played, acts differently to attack pressure and can get great subtle sluttery diminishing tones with different tone control. A really fun, awesome box of tricks! got a fantastic clean boost as well. Took me a while to get my head around the greatness of this box actually, the filters and how they blend ands a further element of sonic capabilities. Yeah, Tom is a cool guy, real patient with my banter, questions and pestering but most importantly he knows and pedals, a lot. Very happy

12.
I use 6x10 and tweeter, a of which makes the fuzz fizz more and I try eq that out, drop out mid to 9, boost the low mids to 3, keep the low bass, high mids and highs at twelve. Still feels fairly good in the mix with moog key board in the band too which takes the real low frequency space anyway. Let us now how this goes, sounds cool,
pfff , must have been on stupid source that day, ^ mids are in mix for sure, ?!?. so what say you beer?
13. salty, best bet is seeing if you can get into their PA and sound check it to make sure you don't muddy the vocals. That PA system was pap and has gone back btw, seems like I can refuse free stuff.
14. Everyones a fruit and nut bump!

16. I'm tempted but have a cog custom coming over soon, really nice pedal I can't afford at the moment. I'm sure it will go soon
17. Hi Topo, did you get QF2 new from IE?
18. cheers big red, this bass looks ace imho. really ace
19. the black bass in OP is a beauty! what make?
20. Si Bob, someones giving me there PA. How can I refuse free stuff, two active 15 speakers but the specs are: Frequency Range: (-10 dB): 42 Hz -20 kHz Frequency Response: (±3 dB): 53 Hz -19 kHz This pretty much means the Meat Box subs would be knocked out of the signal right? Dang.
21. I would never use a pedal/instrument/set up I didn't like just because others do. I might buy a pedal based on reviews and youtube videos, what other option is there, I'm not going to traipse down to Denmark Street with my bass and gig rig to find a fuzz, especially when they won't stock many boutique pedals that I would also like to consider. I enjoy using different pedals and moving them on if they aren't for me, I don't think its a bad thing, I'm not profiteering and never tried to. I definitely don't consider myself to be a better or more knowledgeable musician for it either. I don't know everything and I don't have a massive ticket on myself to be the best musician, I just like loud noises and playing bass. Not sure there's any point getting puritanical about 'fanboys' or peoples attitudes towards effects for the sake of it. Butler - I hadn't actually considered that some forum reviews/GAS could be employed marketing.
