Really, there was diffinitely a difference in sound and volume when it was active and I was getting a different response in terms of sound from adjusting the ,flank,steak and lbs controls. I feel a bit silly now... I'll just have to wait until this evening to see what it really does then. ha.

I ask because I picked one up last night. Makes my 10w practice amp sound like a beast!!! and far more punchy! It only really worked at the beginning of the chain (tuner, octron, meatbox, bassmaster, unichorus) and seeing a few youtube vids, people have it before there octaver... could it damage other pedals or just the speakers? So are you saying go with PA system because the speakers can take it, or just that your more comfortable risking other people kit than your own? (not being righteous here just wanting to understand that PA thing) Cheers guys, I love making noise but I have made a few costly mistakes before just being overly keen and not looking into what Im doing, thanks alot for input.

So it's a sub harmonic animal, I have GAS for it. A quick question for those lucky enough to own or have used the pedal. I have a 8 piece signal chain, where would I put it? Should I use it where I'd put a 'normal' octaver or should it go right at the end of the chain. I ask this because 1: it can apparently brake amps if used incorrectly and 2: I wonder if the 30hz and 60hz boost it gives could be lost after going through other pedals etc. Cheers for your response guys.

Yeah, Jam cruise has been going for years and that's full of Phish fans and hippies. Still a great idea if I ever found a cruise ship with 30% of my favourite bands Id probably go.

Personally I think the EBS UniChorus is fantastic, you can blend the dry and effected signal but adjusting the bypass switch (which I havent done), its featured in this video: [url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nQ5_twQ6Qs"]https://www.youtube....h?v=5nQ5_twQ6Qs[/url] Another chorus pedal that I really like (which needs mods for 9v power supply and new switch) is the DOD fx65, a strange one really as Im not into hassle, but really thick and deals well with the bottom end. I moved a CH-1 & CEB-3 on because whilst Boss pedals are reliable and great for the board, theres something exciting missing from the sound, dont get me wrong, they do exactly what you would want a pedal to do but no magic... just an opinion. I also have Sea Machine, which is just wonderfully weird tremolo/chorus verb thing, not made for bass mind so only really used when picking shoegazer stuff.

I have you all beaten... with the [size=4]smell[/size] of my Ibenez ergodyne EDC700! In the corner of the bed room its fine, no body has ever smelt it nor have I ever noticed it, but once you open up the hardcase for practice (its like exhuming the dead or something), wwhooooouuuuww, smells like theres a tyre fire in the room. The ennoying things is how I always forget to anticipate a smell and react in a surprised 'WOW sh*t stinks' kinda way and then feel stupid about it.

ha, cool. Looking at what's out there I might my try saving my pennies for a fair while to get an all maple p bass, they look lovely!

[/quote] I think this is why I am enjoying playing the westfield so much at the moment, because the ibenez almost seems like a toy, I like the fact I have to emphasis the attacks and challenge my reach etc. Although you are completely right, going too far the other way would be stupid. Sorry to post such a ridiculously open question but... I have been using an Ibenez EDC700 as a main bass for many years. Ive just realised that the only good thing about it is the playability, although I actually don't enjoy the thin neck anymore. The internet seems to think the same. Its also active and at best boomy and really muddy when low ends engaged. I have been playing a super cheap passive westfield and though all the effects its fun, light weight and fits the bill but has really weak low ends. So... having played these tow basses and wanting a P bass for stoner rock, what would you recommend? The internet says I should look at the epiphone tbirds and maybe vintage mod fenders, I don't have much of a budget here at all, £250 MAX. Any other info...

How skinny are you? Im thinking of putting together a 'I beat anorexia' charity band, y'know, you could fit into the super skinny first set ... I'll do the normally rotund second set. So you'll be playing songs like 'I'm soo sexxy' and the re-worded queen hit 'I want to eat my fruit trifle'. Im not sure if this will work though as I have a lot on my plate...
