Mine arrived on Monday, which was pretty prompt. Comments about sharp edges and frets are valid but should be easily fixed. Sounds lovely, which is the important bit. Now for the leftie conversion....which will now involve: 1) No bridge work (other than a little hole reaming), there is no compensation. 2) The nut is not reversible, so will need to make a new one. 3) There is a difference in the tuner slot size, so will need to look if this is a problem or whether they are reversible etc etc. 4) Reverse the strings and that should be it.

How wee? My youngest (now 12 but was 11 when we bought it), chose a Washburn (cannot remember the model number) after trying various guitars. It is a 'metal' style twin bucker, fixed bridge. Nice and light (thin well contoured basswood body) and with a good sound. She has been very happy with it.

[/quote] Yes, was thinking that but looking closely at the piccies on Thomann; the nut looks flat cut and potentially reversible and the bridge intonation piece looks to be fitted square and maybe also reversible (or could go fretless and learn to sort that out myself). I suspect the holes in the bridge would need a little reaming. Anyone with one able to confirm?

Hmmmm, wonder how easy a leftie diy conversion would be.....

Personally, as someone who can read music but is not used to Bass Clef (used to play brass which is mainly in Treble Clef), when I create scores - I put on both. This allows me to use the score for note timings and the tab to give me a heads up when I accidentally head back into Treble mode.

That is the excuse for the fencing (to ensure they don't exceed the agreed numbers) and the stricter anti-drugs stance. Other than that, I haven't heard much discent for a while but that might be on HTV and not Meridien news - or perhaps money talks and then people don't.......

However humans also require some of those resources and are a bit squishier than bears (just about everything in the animal kingdom is). I can't see Alaskans (aboriginal and europeans) vacating the island for the bears though.

The hunting of bears does rankle with me too, even though I have hunted in the past for pest control (magpies/rats) and food/pest control (rabbits). In the 70s-80s, rabbits were a large part of our diet (admittedly quite a bit of it was farmed rabbit). The show in question, is about Kodiak bears who live on an island (Kodiak) with a restricted biosphere. The cull is 'apparently' required to ensure the correct balance is maintained and some locals/aboriginal people do indeed eat bear. I wouldn't do it but it is certainly in his legal rights to do so and has nothing to do with his music IMHO.

I seem to have missed the Pro Series Starbasses from Thomann. Only Rockbass versions are available now. Anyone got one and how do they stack up against the Pro Series versions?
