Devin Townsend Project again in June in Belfast. Have the wife converted!
Lol, cannot say that but at least my girlfriend came with me both times we saw him in 2015.

Maiden in May too!

My Rock and Roll band has been without a drummer for about a year, not by choice though. We have drum tracks for each song, played from the guitarists looper pedal. Its not the same though and is fun with songs with moments of silence - getting everyone to come back in on the right beat.
-
This is pretty much all my band plays (with the occasional 60s song). Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Elvis etc.

My partner walked past this everyday, whilst walking between her hotel and her head office, a fortnight ago and baited me about it every night.

I must admit, I am seriously thinking about getting a Custom/Uber ACG 4 string built. I have a secondhand ACG Graft Recurve that I love but unfortunately doesn't get played much (not much call for a 5'er in my current 50s RnR band) and I have a Cort B4 that has the old style ACG filter preamp installed - which proves the staggering amount of sounds possible from it. I think it would be a J-Type but I must admit, I do like the look of the Krell. Is it any good when sitting down?

Pinnow Music opened in Dorchester last year and seems to be doing well. They are a Chowny reseller I believe (we had a chat, when I saw one on the wall upstairs).

My fiance bought me tickets for this for Xmas. We went to the show at the Octagon in Yeovil on Friday night and I must admit, it was really rather good. It wasn't a simple Tribute Band, but more of a history show and included songs from the Carter Sisters and The Highwaymen. http://www.johnnycashroadshow.com/ The bassist was rather good to. He is called Martin Bentley (don't know if he is a member).
My first wife was a ballet dancer when we first met, she had been to Royal Ballet School etc but sadly got injured out of it. I always thought it was for Toffs but she was a council house girl and showed me the beauty in it. I loved it and still do. These people are athletes, and if you saw the state of dancers feet after a show dancing on point, bloody hell, literally.
After dragging my partner to see Devin Townsend twice in a year (Ziltoid 2 rehearsal and an acoustic set), I agreed to see a live broadcast of the Nutcracker from the Royal Opera at our local cinema. I did actually enjoy it but the repeated bowing in the second act got a little repetitive.

I have Chromes on my VMJ. They have a nice growl to them and feel nice under the fingers (with a bit of tension). I must admit, I keep coming back to my Jazz - even though it is heavier than my Chowny.
I've played Butlins at Skeggy a couple of times...
That is how I remember Skeggy, from a family holiday in the early 80s (we lived in Melton Mowbray for a few years). Especially the oil on the beach.

I got the album for Xmas and have just listened to it. Was what I was expecting, the Stones having a Blues jam. I like it.

Well you could be sneaky. Buy the Squire or Encore (or Thomann) guitar, check it over to ensure it is fine and then take it apart. Then reveal parts to daughter and put it back together again, making improvements (cavity screening etc) as you go. You then have known quality parts but still have the custom built feel.
They don't say prices for anything I'm just after building a pink & maple strat for my seven year old. Teacher says she has natural talent
Not maple but.... My sunburst is not too heavy (basswood?) but I lifted up a natural one at Andertons (maple) and it was very heavy.

I bought my daughter a Sigma dreadnought last year, she has been very happy with it: https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/SIGMADMST/steel-string-acoustic-guitars/sigma-dm-st-d-acoustic-guitar-matt-finish-no-binding-natural?LGWCODE=SIGMADMST;56375;6335&gclid=Cj0KEQiA-MPCBRCZ0q23tPGm6_8BEiQAgw_bAiIIYBxQFnBcFZebhrP6d_XDzCWi6sK1rwsHAESyos0aAuNT8P8HAQ -
When we were looking for the new car, my girlfriend chuckled when one of the pictures inside the brochure for the C4 Grand Picasso showed a full size Double Bass inside. This was not the reason we have bought one.....honest.
Reply from Intermusic - "Hello, sorry we no longer sell guitars but have a few select clearance lines on our site."
Oh, I got my daughters guitar from them too. Hohum, looks like Rondo are your best bet then (although I seem to recall there was an SX importer in Spain?).
-
I love the idea of a fretless violin bass. Can you only get these from Rondo Music in the USA or is there a UK distributor?
I understand Douglas are badged as Shine in the UK. Their importer are InterMusic in Poole but they don't list a Violin Bass on their website. You could email them: http://www.intermusic.com/products/guitars

I wasn't going to buy anything this year.....and then I bought the Upright Piano EzKeys from ToonTrack for £23.

As a Chowny owner, I would recommend the CHB-1.
