1. Devin Townsend - Acoustic set in Salisbury last month.
 2. Didn't get my Deko in the end but Thomann gave me free postage to buy a non-Deko one. Just tested it on my Orange practice amp and was very pleasantly surprised by the sound. I think my daughter will be very pleased.
 3.
That's the shortest episode I've been through so far this series, fast forward button almost in meltdown.
Last two have been like this for us....plus TFI Friday.
 4.
Thanks, hopefully got one for my daughter to try.
Not sure I got it. I have a pending Paypal transaction, with the part for some strings completed but they have not taken the amount for the bass and it is still a Pending Transaction apparently. Is this bad news?
 5.
Shorty P bass Deko in stock just now... Hurry https://m.thomann.de...arch=1445339519
Thanks, hopefully got one for my daughter to try.
 6. We are looking for a drummer for our rock n roll band. We are a three piece consisting of guitar, bass and vocalist/guitar and enjoy playing rock n roll, blues music. The setlist is primarily 50s/60s music (e.g. Buddy Holly, Elvis, Creedance etc) but has a few newer numbers in there that fit the same type of sound. The band are easy going and are in their 40's and 50's but are young at heart, so anyone is welcome if you like the same kind of music. We practise approx 3 times a month in Lytchett Matravers, it's always low key and for fun. We take it seriously but if a few mistakes are made, it's not a big deal. This would be ideal for someone who may drum for fun but has never done it in a band environment, or any one who is not expecting to gig every week and make lots of money! We would like someone who is committed and when we reach the standard play a few gigs but most importantly have fun!! Don't hold back...get in touch if you are interested. We are a friendly bunch and you will enjoy being part of our band.
 7. She goes through a few impressions in this George (and Brad) Takei short: https://youtu.be/Li1_B3CLxDI?list=PLgioCTO1E0Qqk-MOzNi3j4hp8-zN-p5-N
 8.
I have TI Jazz Flats on a Squier VM Jazz and get a beautiful warm sound. I am doing a lot of Jazz and Standards at the moment and it works perfectly.
I have D'Addario Chromes on my Squier VM Jazz. Thought I would give them a go, as my band is mainly 50s/60s Rock n Roll and thought it would be interesting to try them. I did expect them to be duller sounding but surprisingly, when my Jazz is in Serial mode, they can be quite growly when I dig in. Not intending to change back to Rounds on that bass now (still have them on the rest).
 9.
Why thank you sir! Live version available at a Dorset pub near you...
Will keep an eye out.
 10. My subscription copy of TGM arrived yesterday and includes a 32 page Bass section. Not had a chance to check it thoroughly but has an interview with Rob Trujillo etc. One off or maybe a tester for a move into the Bass field by Future Publishing?
 11.
Evetything my band does - though Viva! Lyme Regis probably just pips the rest
Excellent, love it!
 12.
Not sure I'd go Ibanez, would definitely look at Cort though, some nice basses made in a decent factory. Cort make a bunch of stuff for a lot of other companies! Si
Including Ibanez funnily enough. If my Cort B4 is anything to go by, the A6 might be worth a look. Schecter make quite a few 6 stringers too.
 13.
At least it was a deco and not the time they delivered my fretless Wal to an elderly greek lady, who had opened up the box to see what it was before realising it clearly wasn't intended for her...
Lucky it wasn't plates.
 14.
Edit - just checked and they still seem to be in business, the violin bass is the VB833, no leftie model anymore though by look of it.
The importers are in Poole: http://www.intermusic.com/products/guitars
 15. I still sometimes have to skip past this one, when I listen to ABIII: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pn1RwwcfqJ4
 16. EZDrummer 2? I have found it very easy to use and comes with some good sounds (with others available to purchase seperately).
 17.
Höfner HCT1133R Bass Strings.
Thanks will have a look at those.
 18. What strings are you using on these Blablas, thinking about getting one for my daughter?
 19. I watched the cutdown iplayer footage on Friday night and enjoyed it, although ending on the drum solo instead of Ace of Spades was a dreadful decision. Just watched the full uncut version on YouTube, it is a damn good set. Definitely recommend seeing the full set.
 20. Also if you like a chunkier neck (and nut width), the Cort B4 is essentially the same bass as the SR600 (but with a chunkier neck obviously). I thought the Bart Mk1s were P-type inside the soapbar holder?
 21. Always interested in this question. I did get a neck from G&L for a strat project but the heels are not Fender compliant (for the strat anyway).
 22.
...and very nice too..! You do the bass proud. The one major problem..? My appetite has been whetted..! How the heck will I be able to explain that to SHMBO..? Hmm...
Indeed, must wait until after the holiday..must wait until after the holiday...
 23. Love mine, although have a love/hate relationship with the sound. Hate it at home but whenever I play it in a band, everyone else loves it.
 24.
Glad you're enjoying the uke,I find mine gets plenty of noodling use. It's just such a handy size to keep next to me but the talc can get messy. Do puncture repair kits still have talc or chalk ? Might be a source of unscented talc. Totally agree with you, they do sound double bassy. I got quite a surprise.
They do medicinal talc (i.e. unscented) in chemists. Not had to use it on my Uke but I have not had much chance to use it yet.
