Andertons have them for pre order for £199 arriving in April

Awesome, thanks. this looks great, I’ve been thinking about getting a HX Stomp for ages, but out off by the cost and the fact I would only use a small portion of its functionality

It doesn’t have an aux in, but can I plug my phone in through the usb socket so I can play along to songs?

Yesterday I visited a well known music shop in Brighton to try a few new basses. I wanted to try some of the USA Fender Jazz’s they had in stock, with a view to making a purchase in a few months. I didn’t really love the ones i tried, and ended up trying a Mexican FSR bass they had, which was less than half the price of the others. I absolutely loved it, and was on the verge of buying it there and then, but when I went to see if there was anything that could be done on the price, I was told that the bass had already been reserved and wasn’t for sale 😭 Typically, it was a limited edition and they weren’t sure if they could get any more in. Now the thing that surprised me the most was that someone somewhere had bought this bass, but it was still left out in the shop for anyone to try. I would have thought it would be taken off sale as soon as someone had paid. If anyone on here has just bought a FSR Jazz, then I am very jealous!

Played with The 77s at Market House in Maidstone last night. It was our last gig with our outgoing drummer, I thought it might be a bit awkward but it turned out fine. The place was packed, and we had a really good gig. It’s my favourite place to play locally, I have been playing at the weekly jam night that is held there, but it was nice to play a full gig there. There were a couple of the other “big” local covers bands playing at other pubs in town, but it didn’t seem to affect our attendance. we have a dep lined up for our next gig in March, and then nothing currently booked until June whilst we sort out a new drummer. The only downside was having to load out in torrential rain.

we use Teamup, seems to work pretty well, although if I had a pound for every time a member has said they can't make something even though they are showing as free on the calendar.........

I have the alpha omega amp and it’s brilliant

We had 15 gigs booked for this year, our drummer decided he wanted a minimum fee from gigs and so we had to cancel 4 gigs because they weren’t paying what he wanted, a week later he quit with no notice which has meant we’ve had to cancel several more, which means I’ve lost out on around £600 which I’m not happy about! currently looking for a second band or dep opportunities in the mean time. I have been going to the local jam night though, just to keep my playing going

Just FYI GAK have moved their bass department to the upstairs of the next door shop and they didn’t have a huge amount of space, or bass gear when I last went a few months ago

Metallica: Some kind of Monster. Bass players.

I’ve not watched this documentary since it was released, I’ll have to try and watch it this week. I saw Jason Newsted with Metallica a few times, he was brilliant and still one of my favourite players. His bass playing on Load & Reload is great. -
I am really annoyed. I understand that someone wants to move on, but to give three weeks notice is not cool. we have been together for over a year and he has really dropped us in it

Played at The Penny Theatre in Canterbury tonight for the first time and it went really well. They usually have tribute acts on a Saturday but the manager wanted to try a covers band and so we managed to get a slot. Wasn’t sure what to expect as we were told it emptied out by 10pm. We were a bit late on due to various issues and didn’t get going until 8.30 and then we had wireless and Wi-Fi issues but on the whole the gig was great and the manager said it was the busiest Saturday that they had had for months. I used my @Tech21NYC Steve Harris pre amp tonight. I saw the great man himself playing in British Lion on Sunday and so thought fit to use it. Unfortunately our drummer announced he was quitting after the gig, and said he would only do one more gig in a couple of weeks and that is it. Quite annoyed to say the least, as we have quite a few decent gigs booked this year including a wedding, and he has really dropped us in it.

I want one, but definitely don’t need one! I have till the end of March to get the want out of my head!

They are shipping at the end of March, the digital version looks very flexible. It has a compressor, noise gate, octave, tuner and access to 5 different Darkglass distortions

I have been looking at getting a Darkglass 2x10 cab which are on sale for around £800-£900, now I am thinking for a few hundred pounds more I can get a whole combo. Pricey overall though
-
They look fantastic, v jealous of those who bagged one!
-
I dread seeing how much these will cost, given their 2x10 cabs are around £900 and the heads £750
-
Some new combo's have appeared on the Darkglass website (presumably ahead of NAMM) https://www.darkglass.com/creations/ No info on pricing yet that I can find, but they look good. I have been looking at buying a Darkglass cab to go with my Alpha Omega amp, but might hold off and see what these are like.

I saw British Lion (Steve Harris solo band) at Leo’s Red Lion in Gravesend this evening. It was brilliant, and just as good as when I saw them in the same venue a couple of years ago. I find it amazing that he gives just as much effort and enthusiasm playing in a tiny place like this as he does playing at The O2. I managed to shake his hand as he walked past at the end as well.

That theatre is just a few minutes up the road from me. The land that the temporary theatre sat on was a huge patch of bare earth for years since an old coop was demolished. Quite a feat to get it up and running so quickly
-
How are you finding the 1 x 12 cab? I have an Alpha Omega 500 and am looking to swap my Orange cab for either a Darkglass 2x12 or 1x12. I’ll be using it for pub gigs, and not sure if 1x12 will be enough

I had my eye on ordering one of these when they were announced but missed out

Our local shop often leaves parcels piled up outside ready to be picked up by Evri!

From Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son: Can I Play With Madness The Evil That Men Do Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son All classics. I was 8 when the album came out, but was fortunate enough to see the Maiden England tour 4 times in 2013/2014 when the toured it again.

I’ve got my eye on getting a Digitech Drop. It’s looking like the band will be down tuning a couple of songs by 1/2 - 1 step. A lot of places seem out of stock at the minute though
