1. Fuzz after delay? Joining Mogwai? OP: I've no idea how or why it might be happening. Surely the only thing it can be is that the level going into the delay is too low? I don't know about the technicalities of this but it seems a bit odd!
2. Or Umph on here. He does all my work... Dan
3. How about a DHA too? I really love mine and it can do immense blossoming overdrive as well as bit-o-grit. Cheap second hand too! Dan
4. I like this too (far right)
5. How about the tractor bass? Darkstar + (2xJazz) = Beautiful!
6. How about the Ashdown Lomenzo Hyperdrive? It gets some good reviews. [CLICK]
7.
Glassjaw.
Respect.
8.
I find that I only have to move the neck pickup control about 5 degrees anti clockwise and the neck pickup seems to vanish from the mix completely and vice versa if I roll off the bridge pickup. Has happened with every Jazz I've owned - anyone else have this problem?
This could be that your pots aren't great but if you're saying it's happened on more than one bass then it's probably that when both of your pickups are at full volume, the phase cancellation from the RWRP pickups will make that mid-scooped sound that you're liking (and, depending on other variables perhaps EQ humps too). When you turn one of them down, you loose it. It's not that the pickup is removed from the mix, but this. I have the same problem with my fretless in that I like the 'scooped' tone.
9. I'd probably say something like Dillinja on the tune 'Grimey', mixed with maybe Evol Intent. For reference:
10. Bump
11. I run my main board and Microkorg (via Axon) in parallel via a LS2. I then run the M13 into a seperate amp for my guitar stuff. Missing from this rehearsal was the Adrenalinn, FCB1010 (that I use to play the Microkorg with my feet whilst playing guitar with my hands) and my custom router. Dan
12. Or how about a DHA valve pedal? They can get really grindy without fuzzing everything up. Dan
13. Check out our bandcamp [CLICK] where you can download our 'Wizard of Oz' destruction 'No Place Like Home' for free. This year we've perfected our process even further and we're adding a lot more postrock/ambient/doom sections. Just messing with the vid now. Dan
14.
No offence mate but do you not think pure imagination has been done to death.
Other than Crazy P, I don't know of any (could be being totally ignorant here). Thing is, we're playing the full movie, dressed as characters with the venue turned into a choclit factory, remixing every song as part as an audiovisual noisefest. Don't think that's been done to death, but again, correct me if I'm wrong. Dan
15. Every year we put on an event where my band take the songs from a well-known film and remix them with a live band. We improvise everything and theme it around DnB/Dubstep. This year it's Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory so if you want to see Gene Wilder get filthy reese'd follow this link: http://on.fb.me/9RcNXP Dan
16. Hi Simon (sorry for the hijack). I've been developing my understanding of elitism in performance and subverting the supply/demand aspects of music recording. As such I'm employing a transient, dynamic process to the distance-listening experience that I see music recording as. I've developed a vocal-only system whereby the performance is only heard by one listener at a time and once the performance has been completed, it is destroyed (in truth, it was never truly recorded except by the listener's own consciousness). My signal path is this: Voice > cup > string > cup > ear. What is the best string to use in this setup? Dan
17. I'd say Diago or Flightcase Warehouse. Both great road-safe boards. Dan
18. It was Cheddatom, Toasted, Tayste and Finbar that started me on this. Seeing these boards reminds me of the feelings of trepidation and excitement of the beginnings of my foray into effects. Thanks guys! Dan
19. That does look nice and tidy. I really like what you've done to protect the XT Live controls too! I'd like to do something similar but it'd just be too big to lug around as a single unit. Wanna see lid, all pedals and wired up! Dan
20. Every cable I own has a Velcro cable tie (or one-between two depending on the use of the cable). They're relatively dear (you pay about £1 per cable), but they save so much hassle, time and money. My advice would be whatever cable you buy, nip to B&Q and get a pack or two. Seriously. Dan
21. I ran my MF101 off a diago with red adapter and it did more than hiss! It whined and complained and the volume was unbearable. I've been wondering for a while if virtual batteries would remedy the issues (and isolated the pedals from each other). That would be my preferred route. Dan
22. We've just moved to a new server this morning so I'm assuming there are some teething issues. I'm sure the admins will get it sorted soon, but in the meantime at least my keyboard is at no risk of being drooooooled on! Dan
23. I've used one from banzai that's as long as your request but is 70mm square in depth and height. I can't find it right now (just about to go watch Gorillaz) but I think Umph has a link somewhere. Dan
24.
Was it something we said?

the washing up doesn't do itself you know
Errr... You couldn't guess?
25. Yeah, I practiced my upright blindfolded. It taught me to play fretless with my ears.... Then you do a gig with no monitoring
