I actually like the naming. Very tech/geek!
2. I love tele headstocks and LPB so this is quite a treat. I don't know much of Weezer's work, but this bass looks sweet!
3. Wow that P looks great. Is it in a burst? It looks like a subtle antigua! Dan
4. Manchester and Liverpool, Ste. South Manc (Fuel, Hedge etc) and in Liverpool at the galleries I used to help run. TBH (and this is going to sound a little arrogant), once I started doing it a load of bassists went out, bought DL4s and got on the scene too. It was at this point that I realised what I was doing and turned the solo project into a band. Check it www.myspace.com/thebrokendoor. Dan
5. I use Richie Tomson in Wigan (http://www.tomsonguitars.co.uk/) He sets up my stuff and i've seen some great builds by him. Dan
6. I actually know a couple of Jazzers that love this bass. The mahogany and paduak give it a nice presence and its very well priced for a high spec'd bass, but with an ACG02... If only there was more space between the bridge and PU for my roland system!! Dan
7. My Mammoth isn't mine. A guitarist left it with me and emigrated, does that mean I have to buy a Mastotron as well? Help me Basschat. I can't justify spending money I don't have until some strangers tell me to!! Dan
8. Along similar lines, I recently bought a Diago board but the carpet had frayed so badly it was unusable. I stripped the carpet off and have replaced it with 50mm wide velcro but I'm unhappy with the ununiform coverage. What carpet do you guys use to recover your boards? Dan

10. Ta Mike, I used to gig as a solo bassist and got my punching in and out pretty tight, but if a drummer joined in or a tempo-synced rhythm (drum machine etc) you would eventually notice that it was slightly out, and 'slightly' is as good as a mile with timing. I also used it as a tool to internalise timing. That and the metronome 'challenges' shown to me by some jazz guys up here in Manc. Difficult, but so beneficial! Dan
11. Surely it depends on what the music demands and the taste of the player? Sometimes my music calls for an aggressive, driving sound, sometimes a wobbly rich sound. And with the electro/breaks/DnB band, sometimes something very strange. Sometimes, however, it demands a P bass with flats and nothing else. Are you (OP) assuming that all music needs the same sound in the bass register? Dan
12. I can't say for certain but I guess you could route the external audio source through filters and LFO-controlled modulation. It might track an envelope generator too, that you could route to whatever. Also, you could use your bass as a modulator input on a vocoder for weirdness. Dan
13. I love my microkorg but I was originally after one of these. There are lots of subjective opinions about the LPFs being 'richer' but the increased polyphony and full size keys are unarguable advantages. Dan
14. This is mainly for iampirate, but I thought i'd say that the mods I'm having done by Umph are replacing the first round of mods I did myself, namely replacing the footswitch with a TRS jack socket and made a box with a TRS jack and footswitch. I used a stereo jack cable to connect the two, thereby making the footswitch 'remote' so I could put the pedal on a stand but turn it on and off with my foot. Handy indeed! Dan
15. No, it doesn't include the price of the expression pedal but today I dismantled my mono volume pedal, replaced the jack with a stereo socket and and replaced the pot with a 1MOhm linear taper. I know its simple but its my best soldering job to date! Dan
16. Thanks Mike, So you're punching in and out with millisecond-accuracy, otherwise surely it would eventually become out of sync with the tempo-locked BFD? Or do you tap-tempo and it punches in and out in time with the bpm you've tapped (which would be marginally better)? I know you can hack a jamman to be tempo synced, just wondering if this was the case as my drummer (in my odd darkjazz band) is on click and we're talking about doing some onstage looping (too many instruments, not enough players). Dan
17. Tell me about it, Dood. The only one I'm after is a 210 too!!
18. I've realised my flash has made those screw holes look like white dots. I'll get some photos later without a flash, so not presenting the screw holes and a pick with the pickguard/scratchplate. Dan
19. I use a Henry uncoiled. Why am I doing wrong oh wise sage? That's not meant to sound sarcastic. I genuinely don't want to fry myself and would like to know the science. Dan
20. Can I just reiterate how good this synth really is!! I particularly like the vocoder in the ms2000 series. Very rich but not muddled!! Dan
21. Ok guys, Ahmed's done some negotiating and brought me down to below my lowest price at £165. If I'm offering it to him for that, I'll offer it to everyone at that. Its lower than what I needed to get but I would like to shift it sooner rather than later. So £165. Dan
22. He's building me a parallel router for my DnB band. It's going to be amazing! Dan
23. Aww man I was hoping you wouldn't ask. I guess we want to find tonal uniqueness but by robbing other people's ideas (this mod being one) you've got to give back to the community so: Our very own Umph is doing the TB, LED and exp mods for a very small amount (I can't say how much as he's also doing a bunch of other work and has quoted me a single price). I reckon less than £30 though. Dan
24.
you can probably fin a modd'r to do it for you, (and put an expression pedal on the stop frequency at the same time!! WOOO!! I'm SO getting THAT done!)
I am actually having that done at the mo. Gonna post my xiq board(s) when its done. Dan
