  1. Not normally a fan of the Les Paul bass (or guitar for that matter) but these builds are captivating.
  2. For me personally, investing in a decent PSU was worth it just knowing that it would work whenever, wherever and however I needed it to. I went for the Truetone CS6 for various reasons. Its all I will ever need.
  3. I might be wide of the mark here but what's the deal with the 5 string style pickup? Is that stock for this model?
  4. I look forward to seeing this come along.
  5. I have seen that mod a couple of times before but that one is by far the neatest yet. I assume there is another hole at the rear end for the power cable to go?
  6. Sadly not as of yet. Like you, I am concerned that if I add taller feet that its might be a squeeze to fit in the hard case. I am currently in the middle of sourcing some suitable material to fabricate a couple of removable riser blocks so that the board remains effectively unchanged but with the option to add the height when needed. Might not be a suitable option for you though I thought I would share it.
  7. Cheers for the input so far. I think this was my general understanding anyway. Thanks @jebroad are you a bass builder then? If so, I would certainly be interested in discussing this further...
  8. For a long while now I have been thinking about going down the fan fret system route and particularly interested in a Dingwall Combustion. However, I am a high C 5 string player so was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how that might work out on the fan fret system. As always, input greatly appreciated.
  9. Recently had an overhaul of my online presence so had a change of username. My previous feedback threads outlining what a terrific guy I am can be found HERE and HERE. Apologies for the confusion...
  10. So I picked this up from @bassmanady a week or so ago but changes in my requirements means that I don't actually need it for my new incoming bass. Original thread and pictures can be found HERE. Since receiving it it has spent all of 30 seconds out of the box so is in exact same condition as in the pictures on the original thread but can provide more in needed. I can confirm though that it appears to be on A1 condition. So, just looking for the £145 I paid for it a week ago. Cheers
  11. A recent studio project came to an end recently so no longer have a need for these pedals. Darkglass Electronics Vintage Microtubes (immaculate condition with original box and contents; with velcro) - £125 SOLD Source Audio Aftershock (great condition minus a couple of cosmetic marks; non original box but complete with all leads; no velcro) - £110 SOLD Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master (immaculate condition with original box and contents; no velcro) - £150 - NOW £140 TC Electonic Spectra Comp (immaculate condition with original box and contents; no velcro)- £65 SOLD Local pickup welcome, alternatively, postage of buyers choice added to asking price. Happy to field any questions or upload more pictures if required Not really interested in any trades but always likely to be swayed by something delay or reverb flavoured (especially Neunaber...)
  12. Bloody loving this. Is that sample just the Neunaber? If so, which model? I have been thinking of adding a new reverb to my ambient rig and this could be just the thing I'm after.
  13. Apologies, I meant no offence regarding the blocks. I've just never got on with them aesthetically. Good luck.
  14. If not for the block inlays, I'd be all over this. Its a beaut.
  15. This might seem like a daft question does anyone happen to know of any UK dealers where I might be able to pick myself up the Aguilar AG 5M/J-HC pickup set? So far, of the limited selection of Aguilar dealers I have managed to identify, none seem to stock this specific pickup set. Any recommendations that I have missed?
  16. Doesn't get any choppier than the EHX Super Pulsar. I love mine.
  17. I was actually thinking about this very characteristic actually. I was hoping to find a thread in the Amps/Cabs section which might explain these details to give me a better understanding but I couldn't find one. If I can source some info regarding overpowering cabs then this might help.
  18. So after a bit of research, the SA Tap Tempo button seems to be just the ticket. Is anyone else using one for the same application?
  19. I shall be taking delivery of a Source Audio Aftershock over the next few days so am seeking advice on the switching capabilities. I understand that it is possible to customise 2 different overdrive tones using the left and right channels which can then each be sent to a dedicated output. So, I am looking for possible switching options which come after the Aftershock in the effects chain which dictates which of the outputs is sent to the amp. I am hoping to stay away from the MIDI approach, instead want a hands free approach to go through levels of gain. Specifically, I am hoping to have 3 levels of tone: Clean (everything bypassed) -> low dirt (Aftershock Output 1) -> high dirt (Aftershock Output 2) with a remote switcher controlling the output channel Firstly, is this application possible and secondly, which switching devices may be considered (as inexpensive as possible ideally). As always, all input is greatly appreciated.
  20. I agree with TheGreek. I have been eyeing this up for a while myself and have been very curious. I just wish there was a way that I could have a wee go on it before committing to purchase.
