[/quote] my lakland(1999) is really special infinit sustain nice warm bartolini sound plus 35 scale great low b , perfect neck really no issues , the only thing is, the high register has less volumen and and the g string has less punch , that is normal on 35 scale basses. the pavel jazz bass single cut deluxe has exactly what the lakland dont´n, lot of punch modern sound with those nordstrand neo blade , is extremly confortable to play , the only thing i dont like from the pavel : has to many options 3 band preamp 18v electronics paralell series etc etc and is way to sexy kind of too much . the riht thing too do is keep both because they are so diferent but i waiting a bass wich i order one year ago from a german luthier and this bass gona be more lakland style. cheers

thanks guys i think i gonna keep it and make some modifications, that was my idea from the begining but after play it for nearly 10 months deciced is a good bass and i dont wana destroy it , my idea was selling it and with the money buy a body, neck pickups etc but that , if this finaly work gona make a build diaries,

if you like 35 scale lakland ist the best , sandberg 5 strings basses i try a few and really dont recomend them 4 stringd are cool . good luck and cheers

first at all i love fender basses but i would try to buy a bass from a small builder, maybe some one who lives in your area usually they got nice wood , and his a nice experience to order a bass and see how is made , you can always use fender pickups. cheers

hi i hust try a few sandbergs in berlin 4 strings are ok(5 strings basses from sandberg are really bad in my opinion) the pre amp is made by glockenklang i think, really good quality ,the basic model was for me the worst from 5 or 6 sandbergs i try i recomend a normal sandberg california with a mm pick up and a single coil on the neck you get enough versatility with that combination. i agree a stingray have a great tone but just not my thing. if you look for another option and the money ist not an issue just buy a lakland 44-94 or 44-15 good luck with your new bass cheers
