Hi, what year is that? What's the weight? Thanks!
4. Too bad you don't ship...nice bass!
5. ...tempting...whats the weight?
6.
I always eq the head for the cab I'm using, to get the sound I'm after, who wouldn't?
...a drummer...
7. I just bought a DJ5, otherwise this would be mine....good luck with the sale, killer basses!
8. My Lakland DJ5 came with a new set of them; the B and E string were dead. Initially, I thought the bass had a problem. Changed the strings and all is good...
9. Killer cabs....especially in band they have a great punch.
10. Same here - just bought a Tone Hammer Pedal from him - great communication, very good packing and shipping, and pedal was in excellent condition. Highly recommended!
11.
Hi Ant, Go get yourself a GK neo cab. I have a 212 and 115 running off my gk 1001rbii and it is awesome. The cabs are really light (I can just lift them one handed but only due to the size) and it sounds HUGE, and very defined. I have only just put this together (I think I may have spoken to regarding a 2001rb head actually?) and I don't think there would be anything I would swap it for. Other than getting an ampeg svt rig, which for practical reasons will probably never happen, my gk rig will probably be choice from now on.
I run 2 GK 112 Neo II cabs. They are very solid, light, and have a great sound. Maybe you need to move to 2x 212 if you want to mover more air....
12.
Even the guitarists like it
Very funny...enjoy the amp!
13. what's the weight?
14. I am kind of glad that you don't ship...otherwise I would have to buy this on the spot, which would leave deep hole in my bank account. Great bass!
15.
Depends, if I'm mixing or I know the engineer, then I'll go pre and let the PA do it's job. If I'm not mixing, or I don't know the engineer or I don't like the look of the PA, then post.
This. I usually play clean, with a few eq corrections in order to fatten up the sound of my jazz bass.
16.
unfortunately, it's not a fiver ...
That's what I thought...beautiful bass, good luck with the sale!
17. 2x112 vs. 212 of the same type give you some differences: - typically in the 2x112 setup you have 2 tweeters - the 2x112 configuration in most cases has a larger total cab volume, which some have said improves the low freq response
18.
They would if you routed the holes to 3.5" x 1.5" http://www.emgpickup...0230-0140rC.pdf
...no way I would route anything on my Jazz bass...thanks for your response!
19. A 5-string PJ bass. Preferrably a Lull PJ5 or I would love to try the new Carvin PB5....
20. Just wanted to add that I bought a Puma500 recently, and it's a killer little amp. It sounds clear but still warm with lots of power reserves, and the EQ is very effective. It also comes with a taste knob that adds some warmth to the sound or makes it drier. I drive a 212 8-Ohm cab quite hard with it, and after hours of use, it doesn't get hot at all, which I think is a good sign rg. reliability.
21. If you want more information on this topic, read the extensive reports on talkbass. In short, early PF-500 show lots of failures, and Ampeg still hasn't communicated why that is and how it can be fixed. Newer versions of the PF-500 seem to be fixed (Amped has made >10 revisions since the first release....) and work. In essence, if you buy one right now, you need to open it up and check which revision you have in order to know whether you got a good one or not.... Good luck!
