1. Forgive my ignorance, and for going slightly off topic, but what is the bass???
2. Think I'd rather watch than listen....
3. The Rutles, archaeology. Somewhere between cheeky and brilliant.
4. Just an excuse to get out for a fag break. Drop it now or I'll deck yer!
5.
You'd be surprised - what seems unexceptional to one person might be fascinating to another. Plus, people always like to compare, in which case the 'uninteresting' bass or amp becomes a handy bench-mark. Also I venture to suggest that you are unique. These bash thingies are mainly about meeting people. So yes, please come if you can
How can I resist an invitation put like that. I will do my utmost. Thanks J.A.
6. It's not a Warwick "THUMB" is it?
7. A very honest topic getting some very honest replies. I'm rubbish, but then again I seldom practice and I don't do theory. You only get out what goes in. My skills are in balance with my effort.
8. I won't promise, but I'll try to get there. Dunno what I'd bring, I haven't got anything that interesting or exclusive.
9. How blooming dare you! There is nothing at all false about Dolly Parton (the woman I love!) She is 100% pure and natural, just like the good Lord made her.
10.
They were/are indeed Scottish ,though reflections wasn't the follow up to oh bla di oh bla da...it was a bit later...went to number 3 in the uk and was their biggest seller I believe...two million eventually as opposed to the million or so for the Beatles (rubbish ) song! I loved a twee song that came later called Rainbow. Junior Campbell was a long time member who went on to have solo hits in the seventies. A former member of Marmalade came and sang with my duo in Tenerife around 2007....he was not very good , which was a shame because I liked the band a lot! I told him I thought oh bla di was their worst record and he jokingly pretended to ring Paul McCartney to tell him Oh and Badfinger were Australian but brought over to the uk and was the first band signed to Apple.
Badfinger were from Wales, although they ended up with a couple of Liverpool lads in the line up.
11. Would you call it "power pop"? Roughly in the same genre as Badfinger, the Babies and I'm certain there were plenty more. In those days you had to have "pop" music, so you might as well have good pop music, and that fitted right in there IMO.
12. Remember a pint of Best? Courage do!
13. Just heard the trail on R2. Should be worth a listen.
14.
Got a free BT Homehub 5 router upgrade just by phoning BT and signing up for an additional 12 months contract,
Hang on. You phoned BT and managed to actually talk to someone?????
15. Sadly, it sounds all too familiar.
16. Now I've always been a rocker, but Heatwave were just awesome. I bought the single of Always and Forever and it had Mindblowing Decisions on the backside, simply beautiful music.
17. I've only played in two bands so far, and in both cases the vocalist has a very wet sounds. That's it from me!
18. Is it anything like the "Gizmo" that 10cc pioneered before Godley & Creme left?
19.
An excellent end to what was otherwise quite sorry reading! Congratulations dude!
Nothing really to add to that. Glad it's a happy ending.
20. So where the heck is it? Be fairly obvious if it pops up again soon. So sorry to hear about your woes,
21. Possibly Bruce Foxton?
