1. Very Nice John. Enjoy.
2. Superb. Heard it on the radio many times but always assumed Roger played harp. Good old fashioned music, would you call it R&B?
3. I sympathise Twincam. Ultimately, you pays yer maney and takes yer choice. Can't see the point in making yourself play if you don't want to. I think that in a lot of cases G.A.S. is just a way of trying to rekindle fading enthusiasm. I HATE practising, but I LOVE playing with others, unfortunately without the practise I am never going to excel. I guess it comes down to the old adage of reaping what you sow.
4.
I suggest you make your way to Bampton, Oxfordshire, and try some sausages from Strainge butchers. Definitely a good sausage, and not in the least bit strange, though the village itself is a little odd.
Sounds like Royston Vasey
5. I preferred it when we were talking about sandwiches. BLT (the Hairy Cornflake) anyone?
6. I watched all the way through! Great playing and a great vid. Jealous? Moi?
7.
Have a look at the "AC1 rhythm Vox Bass", works off batteries or mains. I use one for practice and is handy having the built in drum machine.
+1 from me. Drum machine if you want it, Aux in Headphones out, plus it looks like a real AC30 if you squint (see my avatar)
8. I feel very much the same CB, not really my thing at all, but this one is very clever and works well.
9. Personally I like it and admire him for doing it. He has played all the notes, and he had to know how to time it all and blend it all etc etc. Works for me
10.
Thankfully these days I seem to GAS for cheap basses. When I was younger and had more money (lack of children) I bought an expensive bass, I wasn't very good but I thought the bass would make me better (it didn't). The cost of my basses has decreased as I've improved (I haven't improved a great deal, but I'm better than I was).I guess, as I have got older, I've realised I have nothing to prove to the better bass players so spend what I want on something that plays the way I want. I still have the expensive ones for special occasions.
Wise words Great Mate.
11. What a lovely conclusion to the story. Well done chaps.
12. Gibson Sg is also 30.5" scale
13. I watched it, was very interesting. I had no idea they were such a hot live band even before Dudes. Apart from the hits, I didn't go that much on the rest of the music played, sorry.
14. I watched it go through just out of curiosity, not surprised it made what it did, ebay frenzy strikes, and research and common sense go out of the window. Still think it was pretty though.
Impressive. Good to hear about this kind of service.
Very much so. There seem to be a number of stores/suppliers who happily go the extra mile. Great to know.
16. I reckon that is something a bit special, good luck.
17. FAF, but does he actually sell anything, or just pay money to ebay to make casual observers like us larfffff?
18. Been watching the Band one lately, excellent.
19. Bump for price reuction.
20. I know there are lots of discussions regarding lighter weight rigs but may I ask for some specific opinions about the TC combos please? Are any of the speaker options better than others? Does anyone gig with one of these (obviously not the Albert Hall or 02), would a 1 x 12 or 1 x 15 be up to pubs and small halls with a live drummer? (without running through an ancient PA!) I thank you.
