  1. I'd have guessed at 25 Or maybe 6 to 4
  2. I changed the batteries in mine yesterday and the battery cover is definitely shielded. (P7-5 version 2)
  3. I pop on occasionally, but don't often have much to say . Nice to see you're still hanging around here 👍 A sheet of thin mdf works for me. Thick enough to run a guide bearing on, but thin enough to not spend weeks sanding it into shape. If you're going to freehand I'd avoid power tools, except maybe a jigsaw to rough it out. It's far too easy to remove too much material and/or fingers! Then use files, rasps and sanding sticks - and take your time
  4. Good - a shinto rasp and cabinet scrapers is a good way to go. The hand trimmer would be sufficient for most guitar building tasks - a full on router can be a bit of a handful, but a side fence/bearing guide will help you follow a template (assuming that is what you plan to do). I'd also find some aluminium oxide sandpaper as you can get it as fine as 400 grit, which is an ideal preparation for your chosen finish. I find a short length of D-shape wooden moulding is ideal as a "sanding block". Then if you really want a fine finish on your paint or lacquer, a pack of micro-mesh pads and some cutting compound such as Meguiar's ultimate compound

    2022

2-0=0 One will be moving on though, the other doesn't arrive until next week
  6. I bought mine yesterday afternoon. Haven't bought anything in the 2 1/2 hours of 2023 yet though.
  7. I'd be interested if anyone has any experience of the current contemporary precision. Fiver Ps seem a bit thin on the ground at the moment, whether Fender or Squire
  8. I just wish I could justify spending that much right now. I keep looking at it, but no way would Mrs Norris allow that in the house without moving some out first
  9. First one since covid. The Willow, Thurmaston, Leicester. Tickets are £5 with all proceeds going to LOROS (LOROS is a Leicester-based charity hospice offering care and support to the terminally ill, family and carers)
  10. We came up with a great one the other night - Pauline and the Appalling Tarpaulins Inspired by a cheap pool table cover in the pub
  11. Wall wart power supplies. Horrible, crappy fragile things. Unfortunately I have no alternative than to tolerate them If only I could find pro quality ones with the correct voltage, current, polarity and plug type. But every bit of kit needs a different combination of the above, and all power supplies are cheap crap made in China Well you did ask
  12. I'd somehow missed RATM and Audioslave. Definitely get a lot of play now
  13. Just bought a Sterling Sub Ray5 from Sean. In perfect condition as described, and even with the plastic cover still on the scratchplate. Great chap to deal with, good communication and met me half way for the usual shady carpark transaction
  14. How is that likely, given the number of Basschat threads where people say they would never lend their bass out? 😂 Your typical pentatonic would probably not be that easy tuned in 5ths. The long scale would make it quite tricky
  15. I've never had any complaints about my Rumble 500 v3 either. If the standalone head is as good as the combo it will be hard to beat. Great value for money too (cheap as chips really)
  16. Our PA is vocals only (pub trio, 3 singists) and we use a pair of Mackie SRM450s, 16 channel mixer and a powered monitor wedge. The monitor wedge is useful not only for hearing yourself, but also for keeping the dancing punters from tripping over foot pedals, knocking mic stands, etc. We have a strip of hazard warning tape across the top to make it more visible
  17. Shame it's not a 5er. I was playing in Wigston tonight too, at the Horse and Trumpet. Anyway, have a bump
  18. Is that ALL generalisations?
  19. I don't suppose you have any photos do you? 😀 Mine's a 1980 mark I btw
  20. My P bass Special
  21. The Eagles: yawn Mrs Norris loves 'em
  22. I kind of expect it to be disappointing, but live in hope. I'll be watching it when it comes out anyway
