3. (in best Taggart voice) "There's been a murrrrderrrrr"
4. Cheers for the links. Probably just need to get by with the Sandberg one. It's only to give me ideas for now anyway. Ta!
5. Indeed it is. Perhaps not quite worthy of bothering the Dragons with though.
6. Anyone know of any online bass building tools or software or apps? Thinking about enquiring about getting something built and was wanting to have a wee play around, without resorting to Google images, crayons and pritstick! Cheers.
7. Anyone use the digital subscription? Just recently resubscribed two months ago for the hard copy, but was thinking about maybe getting the digital version next time. Can be a bit of a hoarder with magazines, so would be less clutter!
8. I've always liked the look of a Tele bass. If funds were not as tight at present, I'd have been interested. GLWS.
9. Not normally a fan of red basses, but really liking the look of the CAR as well. However ditto the bridge comments.
10.
I tried to buy the BNH book quite recently from the publishers but it is out of print and no plans to publish it again. I have 2 different transcriptions of it in notation. If you want me to email you PDFs just pm me your email address.
Check here... http://stuartclayton.com/books/brand-new-heaves-brother-sister-bass-transcriptions/ Ah, right...just realised that link takes you to the publisher... Sorry 'bout that!!
11. Cheers...it is an absolutely cracking bass, both in terms of sound and build quality... Realise now myself it was priced a wee bit too optimistic initially...hope this will generate more interest... Far too nice a bass to be sitting in a case...!!
12. 2nd Price-drop in the space of a week...now looking for £800.00...for straight sale only, no longer looking for trades...GAS has kicked in!!
13.
The Bass Doc made my custom P - which is my main and only bass: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/116578-precisions/page__view__findpost__p__1572223 I recommend him!
That is stunning!!
14.
"The bass comes with the original case and all case candy. It comes with a custom clear pickguard or the original White Pearloid pickguard." For £2000 I reckon you could probably get both pickguards.
Well that's alright then!!
15.
Past: Free Present: The Black Crowes
Saw Sven twice last week, Glasgow and London. The Crowes are such a cool band!!
16.
You've done your bit. Sit back & watch what happens. If they get a gig, go to it
And video it!
17. Jeez, that must weigh a tonne!!!
18. Or failing all the advice given above, you could buy a new 5-string? Much like the Lakland 55-02 I'm selling on here...haha...
19. Damn, that's a mightly fine looking bass...I'm afraid I've not got what you're after trade-wise, but I'd be willing to chat if my Lakland Skyline 55-02 Deluxe sells anytime soon...
20. Was looking at that earlier, looks really nice...apart from the clear pickguard...pet hate of mine...really don't see the point!!
21. I'm pretty much in the same boat as the OP and I've been winging it off and on for around 20 years now!! My theory knowledge was and still is extremely poor. Even though I have been able to hold my own in all the bands I've played in over the years, it's only in the last six months or so that I decided to get on board with a tutor in order to start building up my own theory knowledge. "Unlearning what I've learnt" is exactly the phrase I have been using also and it's proving to be a complete bugger, and whilst I wouldn't say I'm much further along the road than I was six months ago, even already I can see things starting to fall into place.
22. Hey Rob, According to my bathroom scales, it's weighing in at 4.8kg. Also, it's the Lakland pups. Cheers, Dougie.
