  1. Selling my Spectracomp compressor. I have realised compressors aren’t for me. I’m not playing a lot at the moment so not worth me keeping hold of. This was bought this year and only been used a handful of times. Has Velcro on that back but other than that is like new. £50 with free postage.
  2. For sale is an SFX Microfuzz bought off here in July. It’s a great tiny fuzz pedal. One of the earlier ones. I haven’t had much time to use it with current situations and I am not using much equipment at the moment. It has Velcro on the the back of it. I bought it for £50 so I’m selling for the same with free postage. Now Sold
  3. For sale is a micro thumpinator. It’s the new small size one that can fit under pedalboards. I haven’t had it very long, I’m sure I’ll regret selling but I’m not using much equipment at the moment. I bought it for £129 in may so I think £85 with free postage is a fair price
  4. I’m currently using kallium strings on my basses tuned to cgcf. I use a .124, .082, .061 and .045 set though but I’m sure they’ll have the string sizes you want and I find them to be great sounding. Before using these I was using rotosounds before. if you really want rotosounds go on stringsdirect and you can order singles. I think they do .115 on there and make your own custom set out of singles. https://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/strings-c1/single-strings-c810/bass-guitar-c536/rotosound-sbl115-swing-bass-stainless-steel-roundwound-single-string-115-p6094
  5. i did have a search about for something that would let me max my SVT to get a bit of grind going but i couldn't find anything, so i am now considering a vb4 instead and slightly worried if it would be loud enough especially through a Barefaced two10. i can see me getting one and then another two10 cab.
  6. Interesting question and I’m sure a lot of people will have a better idea than me but I have always seen sustain as a by product of quality craftsmanship. I couldn’t give two hoots over how long a bass sustains for but I have noticed the better put together basses seems to acoustically sustain more or so it seems.
  7. If you go to click Activity and go to unread content sub heading. On the drop down menu for content type select topics and click the little gear symbol next to it and it says narrow by forums. On this you should be able to choose which sections of the forum you want to see.
  8. Yes i have used this one myself, i actually swapped out the 3 band preamp in a musicman stingray to one f these and much preferred it. It is just a copy of an original 2 band. So any pickups that would be recommended for a 2 band stingray would be fine. I would probably go for a Seymour Duncan SMB-4A which they say is voiced on the 70s musicman pickup with that preamp which would have been what the stingrays would have had back then.
  9. Hi, If you're after a Stingray Clone preamp try the Retrovibe Stinger. https://retrovibe.co.uk/product/retrovibe-stinger-77-classic-mm-stingray-bass-eq-pre-amp-2-band-pre-eb-circuit/ I'm sure you'll get a lot of suggestions for pickups and other preamps. Good luck in your search!
  10. I’m using an Audix D4. I did a bit of research and that was what worked/sounded best for me. It’s handy especially as the amp clamp just slots onto the cab at the same place everytime so it’s always in the right spot.
  11. Yep i'm using a valve amp, my SVT-CL. I've been through a few solid states and never quite got the sound i was after until i got this. If i play a gig where it needs to be put through the PA I have a little word with the sound man and ask to be mic'd if possible. most of them are happy to oblige especially seeing as i bring my own microphone and use one of the ampclamp mic stands so they don't have to worry about finding a stand or a microphone. I downsized the cab from a Six10 barefaced to a Two10 just to make it slightly easier on load in. Some days i still hate the thought of lugging it every where but i can't beat the sound.
  12. This small stone is only a couple of months old. Played it with my band and realised it won’t work for what I wanted. I’ve taken the feet off and added Velcro. Now £35 free postage.
  13. For sale Ashdown CTM-15 comes with the padded bag, power supply and a speaker cable. Postage included in price! Now Sold
  14. i would quite happily sell it on to you at an inflated price if the situation arises 😂
  15. Single cuts are a big no for me. i also would never own a wood-y looking basses... anything not either solid colour or some sort of finish even if the wood is visible. I marvel and say "wow" when looking at them and can appreciate there craftsmanship and the woods used but if i was offered it for free i would have to decline.
  16. Honestly it isn’t that difficult to do. Just need patience and not to put it on too thick. There’s plenty of guides around on how to do it. Give it a go and see how it comes out! If I can do it, it can’t be that hard!
  17. He said When the tuner is Engaged. When it's on it should be muting the amp when he is unplugging the bass. first thing is to make sure you have the cable to your amp plugged into the output jack on the pedal and not the bypass one. the bypass one doesn't mute when the tuner is engaged. Other than that i cant think why it would pop when you remove unplug the bass.
  18. Selling this tech 21 vt bass pedal as it isn’t getting much use anymore. I bought it to use with a micro amp to replicate the sound of my svt. Seeing as I’m not gigging at the moment and won’t be enough in the near future I can afford to lug the svt around instead. the back cover and feet have been taken off to fit better to a pedalboard which have been lost through the years i’m asking £75 including post and packaging in the uk. now sold

  19. I agree with eveyrone else ACS are great. I got mine on the musicians hearing health scheme but if i hadn't been able to i would definatley have paid full whack. Totally worth it and the best purchase i think i have ever made.
  20. Hopefully it'll turn up something then all you'll lose is the price of the body rather than feeling you've ruined the bass. Good luck Stevie!
  21. I tend to have one bass that i prefer to use (as only in one band) and i like the idea of having a "sound" that is consistant for the sound of the band. I also like to have a spare or back up for it because the idea of it breaking or having an issue at a gig terrifies me. In this band we play in Drop C so the strings on these two basses are a heavier gauge. This means that if i ever want to play anything in standard tuning (at home or at a jam) i have to have a third bass. So three is the smallest number for me.
  22. Knowing that you've got a big sentimental attachment would it be worth looking into getting a cheap bass body, doing the routing adding the pickups to it, fitting the neck from the steve harris? Then trying it out for a bit. If you like the sound enough and think you'll use it, you can then route the steve harris and transfer everything back across? The only reason i say, is the amount of times i've modded (irreversibly sometimes) and then played it just to realise it wasn't what i wanted out of it.
  23. Send Alex at Barefaced an email. He'll be able to help.
  24. as you rock the pedal backwards it goes into a sub bass territory. I’ll try it both ways and see which way works. Thanks for the advice!
