Bad - a little bit too thick for using with a thicker strap. And D'Addario Flex Lock Strap Blocks https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CH8GD2Q7 Good - quite thin, so useful for thick straps. Little tab makes removal easier. Quite soft and flexible. Smaller hole so tighter fit. Bad - the little tab isn't very grippy, so not actually that easy to grab. The best ones I have are simple round rubber ones but with a matte finish and a fine cross grained pattern all over, making them really grippy. No idea where I got them, so I'm keeping them safe (I remove my strap after playing, usually)

Yes, when doing some testing with this new cable and a few others, including the WL20, there is a clear difference in sound using the Boss. Not necessarily a bad one, but the midrange is more pronounced, and the top end is curtailed somewhat. I don't know if that's whether the wireless signal is bandwidth compromised or if it's because of the 'cable simulation' which Boss built in (bearing in mind I find most default 'simulations' by Boss to be too heavy handed) I don't know. I do love the convenience of the WL20 though and hate tripping on cables. I have noticed a few minor hiccups when using the WL20 though, normally it's fine but then one day it will have spasms of interference, so I don't know if I can trust it for anything serious yet.

Great, yes it's probably possible to use other systems if you know how (the built in support on MacOS/iOS is really good). This software used to support text message codes and a few other things but for now I think only Google and the secret word options are available at system level. Many of them require payment from us so we will weigh up these as they become available, if people want them.

I don't know if it's happened here, but it happens to people all the time, people like my mum who use the same email/password combo on everything. If that information is leaked, then technically a third party can access lots of your information. Nowadays most sites require extra steps when doing anything sensitive such as making a payment (for example all our transactions happen via Stripe or Paypal, each requiring it's own layer of security) so generally it's more of an inconvenience nowadays. However I have seen cases where accounts have been hacked and items have been offered for sale fraudulently, trying to trade on the reputation built up by the seller previously. Usually easy to spot, it's happened to my friend on Facebook. Again I don't think this has happened here, at least I have no record of it. Another popular one is to list items that someone is genuinely selling as your own - happens LOADS on vintage car adverts on Facebook. Practices like putting a piece of paper with your username in shot (somewhere that it can't be easily cropped out) help against that. We recently changed the Wanted forum to make it visible to paid members only, because that attracted scammers to message people saying they had the item in question (usually for a bargain price). I feel that things have stepped up in the last couple of years, so we need to protect ourselves and pull together as a community to fight these knobs.

OK not quite

Probably not that exciting but after using a Boss WL20 for a while I used a cable again the other day (A Fender tweed one) and remembered how annoying they are - not very flexible and they always want to coil in the wrong direction. I made a cheeky offer on two of these 20ft Gibson cables on eBay and got them (two for £50, they're £39 each normally). I have to say, I'm really pleased. They came recommended by a friend because they're quite thin and don't have the long rubber boot that you get on many standard cables. The jacks are by Switchcraft, and they have a lifetime warranty. Anyway they feel great, roll up small and definitely get in the way a lot less. Sound wise, I'm comparing to a Vovox cable I was given (that retails for £100) and there's barely any difference, in fact I think the Gibson is a tad brighter - maybe a tiny bit nosier but then it's twice as long as the vovox. And the pack is in BC colours, too! I actually think the orange is nearly the same 🤩

Oh and whilst I’m here - I don’t think any strap makes a super heavy bass worth it. I’ve had to sell some seriously heavy basses because at the end of the day weight is weight and even some made my leg go dead when I played sitting down 😂

I think it's true what he says - it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, as long as the player feels happy either way (like, 'this sounds warmer because it's rosewood!' or 'I just like the way this looks') then that's good. Same with our pedals - probably nobody else cares at all whether your envelope filter attack is adjustable or not. But in this day and age where everything is about convenience, similarity, efficiency and cost, I think we're lucky to have refuge in arguing about the nuances of something as minor as tonewoods, and if we feel empowered one way or the other, that's cool.

I wouldn't mind so much if it was for things I was watching, but it does it for things I've merely viewed. As a seller I have been asked to 'message all viewers with an offer'. Conversely, sometimes I get 'watched item reminders' for items which I am not, or never have, watched.

Tell you what’s even more annoying than a buyer haggling - the seller, specifically on eBay. Take for example yesterday I spent a good hour looking at Russian cameras on eBay. This morning I have six ‘offers’ from sellers, each comes with a notification, an email and a pop up in the app which I then need to mark as read (this is all in app, so doesn’t include any push/badges) and after that they still show for a week or so as offers on my home page which I must either ignore or decline, even if I had no intention of buying anyway.
