I’ve thought about that and may still do it. I haven’t had time to look into it though but no reason why it couldn’t be done, if I don’t get enough preorders then they don’t get made
I recommend going on Etsy and finding someone to make you one the exact length you want. I had a button hole either side of my chosen length so it has some adjustability if I need it but like you I like the simplicity of a fixed strap without a buckle
Tbh I don’t really notice much of a difference between digging in and slapping. When I get really comfortable with an instrument and a bassline my hand moves around and I’ll slap some notes and use all the expression I can muster - in the mix that doesn’t always sound like ‘slap bass’ per se. I think ultimately when it feels natural it sounds natural.
It’s a technique so I like it as much as I like the song. I think it has more impact when it’s a tasty finger style bassline with a few ‘pops’ in but I also like full slap stuff if it’s a good song.
Trouble is most people think the technique alone makes a good song, which of course it doesn’t.
It’s really annoying. The repair guy says it might be my power supply that’s frying it somehow (I use a 1spot with Joyo ZGP on each pedal, which works perfectly with everything else). If it’s true then the pedal is a liability if it can’t take a slight fluctuation. I tried two other supplies and got the same noise which disappeared when I tapped the pedal. Still no dry signal on wah side.
On a positive note it makes a good paperweight.
Ok got it back. Plugged it in using one spot supply. Noise still there. Constant deep cracking when the wah is engaged. Have it a gentle tap and voila it’s fine... but still no dry signal coming through with wah engaged.
Octave/synth side working and sounding fine.
Think I might smash it up with a hammer
I wanted cans that give me the sound of my bass 'on record' rather than some that would let me hear things that I wouldn't be able to hear when my bass is recorded. As such I don't want headphones that produce an extended low end or top end either.
I have been using Bose AE2w for years now (obviously with a cable not bluetooth). I know with confidence that what I hear when I'm playing at home is exactly what my bass sounds like when it's recorded. The design of the headphones means they can cope with full range bass without rattling or distortion, they're easy to drive and are capable of going way too loud. Being closed back means I am isolated from the acoustic noise of my bass (previously I had tried some open back but found I could hear the flaking of my bass over the pure signal)
They're probably quote old now and I'm sure there are newer versions which are easier to get hold of, but if I lost mine I would certainly find another pair. in fact I may pick some up as a spare just In case!
Yeah sorry about that, I tried loads of masking tape to find one that didnt leave any residue but I think each roll I ordered in bulk is slightly different, which is annoying. But yes it does come off easily unlike my experiments with sellotape.
Big shoutout to Rowan at Keld Ampworks who has repaired the pedal. It's on it's way back to me. Luckily Franco at Meridian Guitars was able to help remotely.
I don’t normally like Pearl but it does work on that bass, and it’s sort of your signature, so go for it!! Also black looks good. And clear would be worth a try! Great bass, enjoy
But like I explained already, that view was working fine too, just that the last 'update' might have been a click on the bump button instead of a comment
