Thanks! I’ve got some coming tomorrow ☺️
  2. No sales outside of the official channels please!
  3. I see the point but think best not - we don't want our feedback section being about people and/or deals off site. To the casual observer it may not be obvious and make BC look terrible, too.
  4. Do we need to change the title to warn other people of this guy?
  5. Maple neck and headstock is the way to go. Blocks are nice in a 70s jazz but wouldn’t suit an SB1. IMO!
  6. Yeah not bad places to sell if you’re a trustworthy basschatter - but be extra careful when buying from someone who might not be! @LukeFRC yes drastically - we didnt have a huge problem before but we did have one or two that I can remember. And since FB marketplace/groups took off its actually been good for us because it motivates people to sell, and once you’ve decided to try a free platform I think people are more likely to go the paid route too. It means more gear floating around and that’s all good as far as I’m concerned. BC is more concerned about the quality of our marketplace than quantity of adverts.
  7. Just saw it referred to as ‘the titanium of wood’ which sounds good to me!!
  8. I’ve heard of that wood before, paulowena or something, very fast growing but really stable. Interesting. My SB1 is about 8.5lbs I think. Not sure what the wood is.
  9. Thing is that because it’s free to list there’s often very little effort or commitment from the sellers. There’s a whole host of problems from people not marking things sold and being difficult to speak to (when they can string a sentence together) to full on scammers. Obviously some people are great, but there’s no filter. A bit like Gumtree. OK if you’re careful but not every bass player is a team player like we get used to on BC.
  10. Facebook Marketplace. Complete free for all - some great folks but millions of complete wasters. “pay peanuts, get monkeys” Since introducing a fee to sell here I can count the number of problem sellers on one hand. Only use PayPal, NEVER gift, unless you’re giving an actual gift.
  11. Get him to Pocklington and I’ll ‘introduce’ him to Basschat

Thanks both for the really detailed replies. The ZS10 look really good for the money - I didn't know about them. There are a few varieties on Amazon; I’m tempted to give them a try...

Nobody tried 'em then? What do you think @EBS_freak?
  14. I see you're in York too!! Soggy York!! I'd love to see the bass when it's in your hands. The quarter sawn necks are great, so that's an option now is it? Maybe by the time it's coming back over here we'll have a trade deal with the USA! The SB1 is a great bass indeed, I think it's a very well thought out update on the P bass which is every bit as logical as the original transition to the '57 design most of us associate with the Precision nowadays. The MFD pickup is awesome - the volume and tone knobs interact in a way which makes the bass really flexible and musical. I can't explain how or why, but it works on everything.
  15. Looks great! Why so slow? My first P bass was a Fender ‘57 reissue in shell pink. Looks better on the SB1!
  16. @Dad3353’s never arrived - not aware of any others. I’ll just re send them if people let me know. I sent them in a standard envelope and wonder if any others ripped open like @Hellzero’s - from now on the locks will be taped to card to keep them ‘flat’ which might help.
  17. Let's just wait and see eh
  18. I haven’t but have been tempted by these a few times before I remember that drilling holes is not my forte http://www.woodieshanger.com
  19. Cheers I should be able to get them sorted and purchasable in early Jan if I use next week to get my supply chain sorted (I’m using Santa’s elves who are normally furloughed in late December)
  20. I'll send an email to all members but also plaster it all over the site, you won't miss it
  21. Ah sorry I thought I answered that - I’ll have them for sale in Jan. I’ll send an email to everyone when they’re on sale. I was hoping to have them up by Xmas but for one reason or another it’s taken a bit longer to get everything ready.
  22. I think I spoke to you about it a while back. They look great and I’d have used it a lot when I lived with my brother. We ended up mashing a system together with mixers and headphone multiplier things but it wasn’t exactly neat.
  23. Ok they’ve arrived! Just tried one now and think it’ll be good fun. It’s not the quietest thing in the world but for what it is it’ll be fine. It improved a lot with a compressor before the input. I’m not going to be taking the VB99 with me as the car will be full of child ‘accessories’ but luckily I have a Carl Martin comp limiter which really helps the sound of the cake. Cant wait to try it with the Vdrums too! I guess a jamhub would be a better quality alternative but I’ve been keeping an eye open and haven’t seen any in good nick for less than £250 ish and I simply won’t use it enough to warrant that.
