  1. Great basses too - although I haven't been keeping up with them and I'm not sure if they have a budget range now and what they're like.
  2. Looks like Bacchus have a bass similar to the Atelier Z Beta. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bacchus-WL424-MNG-Black-Used-Mango-Body-Rosewood-Fingerboard-w-Soft-Case-/265003302577?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  3. I’m sorry to say you bought ‘Bass: how to play Guitar’
  4. Shall I merge this with the abstinence thread and be done with it 😂
  5. Planet Waves Hydrate is worth a look. I always use that on unfinished woods.
  6. Investigating the bass a bit further, a guy on TB said that Grover Jackson used an improved poly with improved UV additives which means the white doesn't yellow and the neck stays quite a pale colour, whereas some earlier basses end up with quite amber coloured necks like on my SB1. Makes sense... Might as well add another pic whilst I'm here though (sorry, but I'm really taken with this bass!)
  7. The worst thing about it is the delays it'll cause - every time I've imported something from Japan or the USA it's taken them about a week to send me the letter to pay the duty. That's time I could be slapping. Quite happy to pay extra tbh for the time being, until who knows what deals will happen now that pragmatism can take over from the politics.
  8. Yeah my guess is a twisted string. Make sure also that you press down hard at the break angle over the bridge saddle.
  9. Great trio 👍🏼
  10. LOVE that shape
  11. Is it just me or does the body look a bit slab sided too?
  12. Sadowsky modern size is a reduced body (MS4/5 or RS4/5, maple or rosewood respectively) Or Atelier Z Beta series are great reduced bodies. What’s you’d budget?
  13. https://www.vintageandrare.com/category/Basses-52/4-string-69/4-string-69 Aggregates items from a bunch of used dealers
  14. I think everyone needs at least 4

  16. I must admit it does feel a bit agricultural 🤣
  17. Yea and they all vary quite a bit!
  18. Actually that’s another topic altogether - bass manufacturer logos...
  19. I’ve always liked the Lakland rosewood continuation bit - not sure what else to call it - it looks like the bass is wearing a polo neck. Not a fan of the body shapes but the H/S and logo are cool
  20. Three maple beauties
  21. Thanks @horrorshowbass yeah the neck on the G&L feels great, I think the nut is 42mm so it feels like a P but the smaller body makes it feel a bit more modern I guess. The neck has gone a lovely caramel colour. Ibanez make some lovely basses.. not surprised you’ve looked to them for ‘the one’ aka ‘your sound’ - it’s great to find that first then start collecting other ‘famous’ sounds to have in the tool box! Cheers
  22. Pinning posts is the best way to make sure nobody sees the thread. I only like pinning things like rules so they can be referred to easily. I’d also rather not pin something about a scammer because at first glance it could look like he has something to do with the site and I don’t particularly want to see his name every time I open the forum. No, much better to just keep the thread normal 👍🏼
  23. I must confess I haven't started it yet, but it's in the queue!!
