  1. Get back in here and sharpen those pencils
  2. I actually have one on my keyring. I will be suggesting alternative uses when they go on sale. Thanks @stewblack for the kind words.
  3. I have found the parcel post quite reliable of late but the regular mail service quite slow - Fred's birthday cards are still arriving... fingers crossed they come soon.
  4. I should have sent you some backwards ones! (Actually I think I already made that joke by email) Enjoy and thanks for the support!
  5. Hi Craig This isn't a car audio forum I'm afraid, although some of us play bass guitar whilst driving I don't think anyone will admit to it online. Cheers
  6. I think the Europe deliveries arrived first because the UK service is a bulk service via Whistl who quoted 3/5 days When they go on sale fully they’ll be UK only as international orders require a mission to the Post Office separately (the UK ones I can drop at the UPS depot near home)
  7. Just checked under the scratchplate (not that the white one has arrived yet - seller is being an arse and basically saying he’ll refund me if the tracking is updated to say ‘lost’ 😂 yeah nice try) - it’s a little more cream under the plate but bright white everywhere else, kind of opposite to what I expected.
  8. Even if it was 100% original and untouched it would still be well overpriced
  9. Used 3 - 4 times... as a shovel? Rip off if you ask me!
  10. The font is called Xirod and the way the letters look depends on the use of capitalisation. In this instance I didn't think it would be worth trying to explain and think it looks fine - maybe in years to come people will be selling these as collectors items. The 'redundant' full stop is to provide a consistency to the design around the centre. Removing it looked weird, and I doubt many people will sit typing in the url in a circular fashion for the rest of their life, but you never know. They deserve it.
  11. Just a Covid footlong
  12. I couldn't find a pen so I have burped into your envelope instead, hope that's OK
  13. I had a really busy weekend drinking it all
  14. Beautiful. Enjoy the enhanced bass playing skills that are included - you just need to swallow two straplocks with an evening meal. The other preorders will be arriving with buyers today or tomorrow, and they'll be on general sale to everyone in the next few days once I have the supplies ready. Cheers and enjoy!
  15. To be honest, I ignore what the model is called/meant to sound like and find which sounds best. Most of the time that’s the ‘super flat’ in my Roland. I honestly don’t think amplifiers vary in their ‘baked in’ sound as much as these companies seem to think!
  16. Ive bought loads this year - everything I was after came up at once. A Celinder J-update, ‘83 Musicman and some synths - but my BEST is probably the Future Impact pedal because it’s opened up so many possibilities with my mini bass which was already a full on synth stick. Worst - I bought the correct USB cable for my C4 but haven’t even fired up the editor yet. All in good time!
  17. Yeah I hate a super fast clackity clack bass’line’ played by a show off (like everyone at LBGS) but a slow groove with a couple of accented slaps/pops, yes please 🤗 Weirdly the person who bumped this necro thread emailed support to say he wants his account deleting because he’s realised he doesn’t want to talk about bass with strangers!
  18. I just got my Labella 760FX strings from Bass Direct. Weirdly they don't have red/orange silk like the ones on my G&L but they're quite old, maybe they changed - they feel the same anyway! Well - they sound fantastic on the Ray. They have that kind of loose 'rubber band' funk sound that suits the ray so well. Pops on the G string sound really clear with a lack of sustain that sounds really fat. I've backed off the bass control to bring up the mids and it growls when played fingerstle really well. Very pleased - I'll keep the Elixirs to one side if I ever need a really slicing sound but I have other basses for that - the flats suit this old dog really well and something about the fat slab body and feel of the bass just works with these strings. The whole vibe of the bass has shifted a few notches towards 'chonky'
