Yes it’s great and quite easy to use and time the presses to produce a clean take. It might just be the power supply I’m using but it refuses to accept one of them and the other two seem quite noisy. I’ll try it with batteries and see if that’s better. I could probably use a decent multi power bank tbh
  2. Finally got round to learning Michael McDonald’s ‘I Keep Forgetting’ today. It doesn’t feel right playing along on anything but a ray!! I’m going to try some flats on it too - Labella 760fx are my go to. Interested to hear if any ray players here use them.
  3. I think I read somewhere that UV is the best thing to kill the bacteria/smell. Leaving it out in string sunlight (yeah right!) or maybe borrow a tanning bed 😂
  4. Looks good! I can see the way it’s constructed much better now. You might like to add another strap pin along the body so it balances further along to the side, as it were, in a more natural position. Let us know how it sounds!
  5. I have both and although I haven't yet had a proper dive into the C4, I find the FI more intuitive to use. Both sound fantastic...
  6. Those Stradi basses look great but I'm pretty sure they aren't £3000 new let alone shipped from Japan with duty on top!
  7. BTW my post shouldn't be read as an endorsement of any kind - it could fall apart at any second so will have to see how it goes, although initial findings are positive.
  8. No but they shipped it especially slowly from Germany!
  9. Mine just made me a cup of tea and started work for me this morning
  10. I don’t know if they do any other colours. Pretty good padding, the bag stays in shape well and I’d say it’s comparable with my Fusion bag. There are some interior pics on the link.
  11. Yeah I guess that’s the same for most people who bought them.
  12. I had a punt on one of these. I'm impressed for the price - very sturdy construction, moveable neck pillow and lots of pockets. It is imitation leather so it doesn't weigh much (used to have a Harvest leather bag which weighed quite a bit on it's own) The colour is good and the 'leather' doesn't look half bad. The only problem is they have used the biggest zips known to man which clank around a bit, but can be replaced. Sits nicely on my back and the front grab handle is always a welcome addition. £59, can't go wrong.. https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Fame-Gigbag-Electric-Bass-Antique-Deluxe/art-BAS0010066-000 Cheers ped
  13. Anyone have impressions to share? How do they compare with Elixirs?
  14. There is a correct answer - Labella 760fx. Everyone else is wrong.
  15. Never seen that before. Cool idea. I like 👍🏼
  16. I'd say more slippy than grippy. Hard to say, but it stays put nicely.
  17. Sure I THINK it was eBay a while ago - it's a Fender case allegedly although there's no branding on it. I presume they were licensed or copied from Scott Dixon types (or the other way around?) Although it seemed like overkill at first, it takes up very little room compared to the Warwick bass rack it replaced, and of course it can be closed to protect the contents. It has wheels too and doesn't weigh that much (all aluminium)
  18. Kamakiriad was the album I remember most from childhood. I had a Sony SUPER BASS walkman and used to listen to it a lot, I have a very string memory of reading a comic in bed whilst listening to 'On The Dunes' Would love to hear more about that album...
  19. I think it would be wise to try some actual flats first so he knows what they’re like, give it a couple of weeks then try others.
  20. I think the whole 'it's for my son' thing is a cover up!
