  1. Yes I think that's what happened - all organised and sorted now. I downloaded your pack and will spend the weekend synthing. Very impressed so far.
  2. I don't think so, the only way I think you could is by going to your profile and you cans see all your posts by clicking the 'my activity' button, et voila https://www.basschat.co.uk/profile/21-bigredx/content/?type=forums_topic_post&change_section=1 Then I guess work backwards to around the date in question!
  3. Ah good plan. I’ll do the same. Just had a panic that the editor wouldn’t load because I moved the directory folder. Put it back and it opened. Yeah I’ll sort out my structure now and hopefully make some cool sounds to share. Here’s one synth sound I really like and will try to copy. Synth sound at 55 seconds
  4. Lovely. I’ve never had one but always respected anyone who uses graphite
  5. That’s cool. I’d be tempted for my Wingbass but I don’t think there’s any room left what with all the synth gubbins in there. I’ll have a look later anyway.
  6. Thanks very much for that, I'm sure you're tired of having to explain to idiots who should just RTFM! All makes sense now - I even managed to download and try your Mutron patch just now. I've made a folder with all the files in and will have fun playing with them. Do you find it best to keep a spreadsheet of what's on your pedal so you don't end up writing over things or so you know which patches to overwrite if it's one you won't use? I know you can just reload the default ones at any time but I feel I could get lost quite quickly! On the VB99 you have all the default patches stored under a second bank so you can A/B against the default sound which is sometimes helpful.
  7. Looks a bit TOO much to be honest!
  8. Ah bugger me I hadn't downloaded the directory. Done now. Is the pedal meant to show -- when using the software to change patches?
  9. Right I turned the pedal off and on again(!) and it works now when I use the on screen keyboard, but changing patch by pressing the pedal makes no difference to the sliders/screens, all that changes is the sound the keyboard makes. Have I misunderstood how this editor works or something?
  10. OK Thanks - still the same though do I need to change something in the MIDI Studio? Told you I hate MIDI
  11. OK well good to know I haven't lost my touch - I've installed the UM ONE driver and done the setup via the MIDI Studio in OSX as instructed in the UM ONE readme. I opened the editor and selected the UM ONE as the In/Out All that happens is that my pedal shows --5 as the patch and pressing the keys on the app makes a long sustained note that doesn't stop unless I hit a string. Knew it wouldn't be easy! Help!
  12. I don't mind isolating with it
  13. Yeah me too, and you can instantly recognise the sound. I know what @4000 means about the focused sound although it sounds quite warm played over the front pickup - although I bet it works well on a fretless. Clever thing about the early Vigiers is how the neck stops where the front pickup starts so you get the warmth of the wood with the consistency and even response of the graphite. Even though the two pickups are far back and next to each other you can get a wide range from P type clonk to rear pack up bark by panning the control which is really surprising.
  14. I think Moses made a graphite neck for them but the idea didn’t take off but there are a few floating around Here’s one! https://reverb.com/item/35148197-kubicki-nos-rare-moses-kubicki-ex-factor-neck-1998
  15. I could do you a special signed photo?
  16. There’s a bass I’d like to buy for sale in Jaén, Spain. Unfortunately the seller won’t send outside Spain so if anyone is nearby I’d love it if you’d go and check it out for me and potentially buy it snd send it to me. I might even pay you back. Cheers ped
  17. Annoyingly I haven’t ever played one but always think they sound great recorded. Also annoyingly I found my ‘88 Vigier’s sister (#709 to my #711) for sale in Spain but the bugger won’t post. May find a helpful Spanish BCer to be a go between! The plan would be to turn it into a fretless to match my fretted.
  18. Whereas I hate stacked knobs, especially when only one is stacked so it's twice as tall as the others! (but then have you seen HOW MANY KNOBS MY BASS HAS!)
  19. Always loved the Kubicki Ex Factor. It has a very 'graphite like' sound. Unfortunately all the best examples I've seen have been in the USA.
  20. So just doing the maths and it seems that if the unit draws 100mah then a rechargeable 9V battery with 850mah will last about 8 hours (probably less if you do lots of twiddling). Tempted to try it as a backup and for travelling, any things I should know beforehand? I'd just get a centre negative adapter with a battery snap on the end.
  21. Good service from the retailer, who was it?
  22. They look pretty good but I' have thought the reason to put them on a backing plate would be so that you could adjust the spacing, however it looks like they aren't adjustable.
  23. IME, a lot of trial, error and experiences playing the exact same setup in the studio, at home, live and at jam sessions I now feel pretty confident that what I hear through my 'headphone rig' sounds exactly the same as my bass does when recorded. And because I'm so happy with the sound with it in a mix, I've locked that sound in and haven't changed it at all in years. Live I know that the speaker and amp will colour the sound a little but generally my own rigs have been powerful clean sounding rigs and when I borrow one that isn't I know what to adjust to get it sounding as flat as possible, or at least good enough. I NEVER play through an amp at home (my Blackstar U500 has barely been used at all) because I don't like the idea that neighbours might hear me plodding away and I couldn't;t concentrate or relax knowing I was making a racket. Plus, everything in the room vibrates with each and every note and finally I don't like hearing the acoustic sound of the instrument 'clacking' away over the top of a quiet amplifier. Using headphones you hear your bass like it's been recorded and nothing else - sure you can add a touch of reverb and 'room tone' but mixed with a floor board/bassboard you get all the 'feel' along with the advantages of being practically silent.
  24. And just to confirm, am I invited
  25. Thanks that’s very kind - if my best offer on eBay is declined I’ll let you know (don’t think I can withdraw it now)
