Took a few pics today. Really loving this bass. I’m finding it really comfortable to play. It’s wearing some rather old Cobalt Flats currently which suit it really well. They came off my P bass as they were too lively, so as you can see they’re chewed up pretty badly at the headstock - but they’ve been stable for a few weeks now and it would be a shame to waste them!

I’ve got a couple of blue ones coming here so I can have an Xmas jam with my brother on his V drums. Can anyone tell me what cables they come with? Otherwise I might need to find a cable to connect them together - is that a 3.5mm stereo jack?

The polish is great too! Yeah I think the satin finish is a new option, although I believe it was offered a while back the more recent Smiths are high gloss. Looks great.

Yep, lovely things! I have't tried the steels in years though as they don't come in my size. The nickel ones just sound perfect on hi-fi basses IMO.

Amazing bass - what a collection!! All with too many strings! 😂 If it's any help I always found Elixir strings sounded amazing on a Smith; the nickel warmth and everlasting brightness really suited the character of the bass. Looks like a satin finish, that's new isn't it?

Yes - still very noticeable. I use quite a lot of ghost notes and finger striking and it's very easy to spot when they arrive a tiny bit late. Probably wounds notice it live but it was really off-putting at home. Think I'll stick to a cable for that.

I'd like to try the Boss ones but I found the latency too much on my Smoothound.

I've never played a twin pickup model but there's something pretty neat looking about them. I guess the front pup might get in the way if you pop in that area, so maybe you need an HS model!
