  1. I’d happy swap my child for a Shuker or Wal. Or even just a new battery for my preamp.
  2. I’ve got GAS to pay my council tax, can’t wait, so yours for £850!!
  3. It's wasted my morning going down the bass vid rabbit hole, that's what! Actually the clip is quite good, the bloke seems cool and down't waffle on endlessly. Especially I like the sound right at the end:
  4. Interesting, thanks. I'd like to hear some good sound samples but YT doesn't have anything decent - there's one clip but the sound of both pickups sounds out of phase or something and I also want to hear one slapped!
  5. Cool bass. Out of interest what’s the relief like on the neck? Assume it has no truss rod (like all the best basses) ped
  6. The bit about him having to caulk the pick guard because he sweats so much is enough to put me off, on top of the music of course.
  7. I used to love watching Morse and pointing out all the places I’ve been sick around Oxford
  8. 😂 no problem at all, let me know if you need help with anything welcome to the site!
  9. This one, plays like butter. Very cold hard butter with nails in.
  10. Same here! Many of the basses I have had simply don’t go low enough or have necks straight enough. It’s really disappointing when you like everything else bout a bass but just can’t get the feel you want. Adverts often say ‘super low action’ but the G string is about a CM off the board!
  11. Yeah, I’ve had that for about 15 years now and it’s seen off everything especially with the synth built in so it can do perfect (to my ears) impressions of J, P, MM styles too. But I like that it has a unique sound of its own, it’s one of a kind and sounds so even and plays so well it’s almost digital! I used to think I’d also need a 5, a fretless and so forth but in reality when I was playing something else, especially something easily recognisable like a Jazz, I kind of felt like I was copying a sound rather than playing MY sound on things if you see what I mean. There’s an album by Gov’t Mule where each track has a different bass player and it’s really good to see how an instantly recognisable ‘signature’ sound can be used in different contexts and still sound great. Flea plays on a fusion blues kind of tune with his Modulus and it sounds amazing, whereas my first thought might be ‘oh I need a P for that tune’ I guess when you’ve had a bass long enough and used it live, at home, in studios and all sorts you just get to know it so well that you just feel at home on it and know how it’ll sound in every situation.
  12. Something graphite might be a good way to go
  13. Joking aside, postage will be n option at a later date if it’s still here. The buyer will have to add the price of a hard case though.
  14. Motorbikes - there’s an idea!
  15. France isn't 1hr from York unless you charter a jet for me
  16. I was going to say but didn't mention how I'm becoming the same with watches. I think I have 'my' watch now, after years of buying and selling. I was also like that with cameras, and also have found 'mine' - so I'm looking for new areas to waste money on!
  17. Yes it's possible! I have bought and sold more than I care to think about since starting BC. However when it comes down to it I really like the idea of having a bass that's 'me' - my sound, and what I use for everything. Kind of like some of may favourite players have had a bass which they are known for playing. It's a nice place to be, because otherwise I was always second guessing which bass I should be using for what and it became a distraction. So after years of this cycle (which, although I wouldn't want to go back to that now, was a great way to try out lots of instruments and learn about what I liked) I realised that one bass always ended up back at the top of the pile and the others got sold or swapped. To this day I still have that 'one' bass that I know is just perfect for me, but it doesn't 100% stop me wanting to buy and experiment with others too, so that way I look at it is that I have MY bass, and sometimes one or two others that I play with for fun, but I never buy them for keeps, and can easily slim right back to that one bass at any point.
  18. Reduced to £900 collected or met somewhere within an hour ish of York!
  19. Just realised the VB-99 has a high and low pass filter under one of the advanced EQ settings. HPF lowest setting is 55hz. Works well with synths to stop uncontrollable rumble through the bass board.
