Yes, I tried the 15 ages ago. Liked the sound, and the weight was OK, but side handles would have made it way easier. I think a combination of using the top handle and the ports on the back as grab holes worked quite well but the weight was quite off centre so it was fairly awkward. That said, with wheels it's fine and if you carry it all by yourself you'll only end up helping the drummer with his hardware.

Yeah if I was buying I'd be tempted but this one won't cost me anything so I'm looking forward to trying it. I have used Trace tube heads and Mesa 400+ a lot in the past, including SVT-CL and currently a PF50T. I've never tried an Orange, so it'll be cool to give it a go. I don't know if I can stomach the full matching orange cabs, and tbh I'm not even sure if the AD200 I'm getting is in an orange case, as they appear to come in black and sometimes white, too. I'll probably get it in a couple of weeks so will let you know!

Aye, I am at the moment - we have some semi big venue gigs coming up. Tbh my Blackstar combo and extension sound great so this is more of a curiosity really, having played various tube amps before. I'm interested to see if there really is something 'extra' or if it's rose tinted spectacles.

Thanks, yes I’ve found quite a lot by searching but I don’t remember reading much about them in passing, maybe I just never noticed or before. Cab wise I’ve been looking at 4x10, 2x15 and maybe 2x12s it just depends on what’s nearby to be honest. I’m quite happy to bide my time. It looks like the Bergantino 410 works well with it but then I’m also tempted with a cheap Fender 4x10 I’ve seen locally. Like you say, 25kgs or thereabouts is ok for me.

We haven’t changed anyone’s account. It’s fantastic that so many people support the site and its continued success. Whatever I say will be misconstrued probably but if members have been here for several years then it would be amazing if they could support what we do by becoming a supporting member. This decision had to be made to stop scammers picking on the site, which is a pain and frankly something we’d prefer to have left alone. For a while we stopped it in other ways but the sheer volume and admin burden meant that we had to use the system membership levels to raise a drawbridge, so to speak.

That looks great, a second Tbird pickup will be great fun. Can you tap the coils in your pickup? Perhaps that could be a useful switch to add if so. What colour pickguard are you going for?

Thanks chaps, yeah the weight will be OK, it's only slightly heavier than my Blackstar combo so as long as I can get it out of the car into the house that's fine (I have learned that one trip load-in at gigs just means I end up carrying other people's heavy kit instead!) I am thinking it would pair nicely with a Schroder or Epifani cab, although I think there's a Fender or Ashdown 610 neo at the studio which would also be interesting.

Hi guys I’ve got a chance to borrow one of these long term. They look great - fairly reasonable weight and simple design. I’m not sure what cabinet will go with it, I don’t currently have a passive cab I can use it with of my own but have some options available at our practice studio. Apart from the expected cries of ‘get a Matamp’ I wondered if anyone here uses an ad200 and what you think of it. I have seen some good reviews by searching but I don’t recall much talk about them in recent memory. Any experiences, tips, reliability stories and advice gratefully received, cheers

I think these things are a bit of a pain but a necessary step these days. I envisage systems getting much smoother and integrated. What really boils my piss is having to create an account if you want to buy one single thing from an online retailer, which often involves refining a code by text then doing the same rigmarole with your payment card. Using Apple Pay - takes two seconds.

Make sure you’re not blocking cookies from BC otherwise it might forget you in between sessions. You should only have to do it when logging in from a new device or signing in if you’ve signed out previously. Depending on the system your using then you can indeed use Face ID to fill out 2FA.

I must admit that after 30 something basses, my '66 modded mustang is absolutely bang on for me (which was a complete surprise). As such, my trusty Vigier Passion hasn't been played for probably over a year now. I have listed it for sale, and probably will sell it if a good buyer comes along, but equally i'm not in a rush. Maybe I'm in two minds. I let go of a Celinder, Smith, Pre-EB Musicman and others because of the little 'stang... maybe because the Vigier is the last step and the one I've had the longest it's hanging about. That, and it's been modified a lot (improved, IMO - I've had 6 Vigiers) which probably hammers the resale.

I have a strong desire to try a bass through one of these.

I tried these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C7H382DD?th=1 Good - easy to grip due to the shape, decent texture makes them grippy. Fairly supple and easy to stretch over strap pin. Bad - a little bit too thick for using with a thicker strap. And D'Addario Flex Lock Strap Blocks https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CH8GD2Q7 Good - quite thin, so useful for thick straps. Little tab makes removal easier. Quite soft and flexible. Smaller hole so tighter fit. Bad - the little tab isn't very grippy, so not actually that easy to grab. The best ones I have are simple round rubber ones but with a matte finish and a fine cross grained pattern all over, making them really grippy. No idea where I got them, so I'm keeping them safe (I remove my strap after playing, usually)

Yes, when doing some testing with this new cable and a few others, including the WL20, there is a clear difference in sound using the Boss. Not necessarily a bad one, but the midrange is more pronounced, and the top end is curtailed somewhat. I don't know if that's whether the wireless signal is bandwidth compromised or if it's because of the 'cable simulation' which Boss built in (bearing in mind I find most default 'simulations' by Boss to be too heavy handed) I don't know. I do love the convenience of the WL20 though and hate tripping on cables. I have noticed a few minor hiccups when using the WL20 though, normally it's fine but then one day it will have spasms of interference, so I don't know if I can trust it for anything serious yet.
