Glad you sorted. In my experience it can take three of four days to get the payment letter so I normally wait until it’s in the local depot then call the tracking line (and pretend I didn’t realise you have to wait) and they let you pay over the phone with the tracking ref. Normally once I collect or have it delivered the payment letter arrives a few days later!

All we talked about were cars and paint for some reason. Not sure how he does business but tend to think of that as separate from everything else as a lot of what’s said is hearsay anyway. Although there was a room I wasn’t allowed in with a lot of screaming coming from it.

No amount of EQ will make a Jazz sound like a Stingray. There's no substitute for changing the location of the pickup. Personally I like basses with active pre-amps if the bass sounds perfect with everything flat, leaving me with options to adjust if required. I wouldn't want to rely on a preamp for the bass to sound it's best.

For those who play at home a lot, might I recommend a bass board to use along with your headphone amp. Or run it from your amp and use your amplifier’s headphone output if it has one. Soon you’ll much prefer it to playing through an amp with everything rattling along and not being as loud as you’d like.

That’s me 😂 I used to have one of those switchable Bassmute.eu devices which was great but it went with the bass when I sold it. I’d quite like another but not sure they’re still being made and tbh I quite like the DIY approach. Does your design alter the intonation at all? I find foam under the strings does slightly, but probably not enough to worry about.

Looks great! I slide foam under my strings and like that method because I can stop before the G string and leave it unmuted for accents. I guess you could do it with this type by moving the block up a string.

I think originally it’s so all the strings can be packed in the same envelope so you can distinguish between which is which, maybe if you’re width blind
