  1. Hi Ed It COULD be your email address (Hotmail). We’ve had issues before where emails were sent to spam so have a look there. Do you have an alternative email you could switch to just to test? I can make the necessary adjustment just message me and we can try it. Also worth noting that the notifications will only work for items/content posted after you changed the setting so for example you won’t get notifications for anything before we made the jump or retrospectively on any content you’ve posted recently. So if the settings are all ok now you could try commenting on a new thread you’ve not posted in before or starting a new one and see if that works, or at least sends you an email to spam. Hope that helps, must go to bed now so will follow up in the morning. Cheers
  2. Agreed. Good example of Flea’s clicky sound in this tune. Shows how it can sound really smooth and velvety
  3. Thankyouverymuch Agree with your comment re Zender and Flea. A bit of clank/buzz underlying a note gives it great definition and helps cut through imo. Otherwise it can sound a bit ‘buh’
  4. As little or as much as I like - certainly no unwanted buzz or snagging. Tone wise I love a bit of clank/zing behind the notes when I want it. I haven't got many recent recordings but the setup of this bass hasn't changed in over ten years so you can hear my sound here. 99% sure this was using the strings in the pic above, too.
  5. Yeah bang on - tbh I think if you magnify a G string up this much you'd be surprised how they look at the frets.
  6. Totally fine, They're great little basses. Simon bought his along to the LBGS last year and everyone loved it (and thought we were selling them on the Basschat stand!)
  7. They're probably nearly two years old, maybe more. They're Elixirs - they still sound new. Honestly I'll end up wearing them out before they die of natural causes.
  8. Here's my G string (not the first time I've said that online)
  9. Yes those look great. I've drooled over a few - nearly bought a nice used one that came up here a while ago.
  10. If a company can't be bothered to reply to a potential customer then I'm out! Anyway I have a WIngbass which I think fills the brief better, and as far as I know was the original half-bass
  11. Well originally it was £39 inc. p&p when adjustable with hardware and a pick holder. I was expecting it to be a bit more with the customisations but it was the same. Not cheap I guess but it’s exactly what I wanted so fair enough. The ends are proper leather not PU.
  12. I used to be like that but now I like to retain the seated position when standing. Not that I’ll ever stand if there’s somewhere I can sit instead! Even then, I’ve been liking a strap whilst seated recently. I normally use wide leather straps on my other basses but this bass is very light and I think a normal guitar strap looks nicer too. Etsy is great though they’ll make whatever you want! I’ve had loads of straps from there.
  13. And I’m lazy! I hate it when I go into shops and can’t play anything. I think most basses I’ve had I’ve ended up having to file down the G saddle because they won’t go low enough 😂
  14. If I play anything with an action more than 0.00001mm and basically zero relief I feel like my hands are numb and find it impossible!
  15. I’ve never had a response from Mayones. Ridiculous.
  16. Hi folks I prefer fabric or nylon straps on one of my basses but don’t like the buckle you get on adjustable length ones. Call me weird but I also don’t like that part of the strap is doubled where it loops back. I tend to have my strap quite short so this ends up being most of the length. After measuring my preferred length from hole to hole (100cm) I went to Etsy to find someone to make me a fixed length job. A few emails and the next day it’s ready - being posted as we speak (from Ukraine I think) I really like Etsy for this sort of thing. Cheers ped
  17. The bridge pickup is original, neck is a newer one. Also the bridge has been changed to a Schaller 3D (actually a better bridge) than the original. £700 is an absolute bargain 👍🏼👍🏼
  18. Yes and if I turn slightly. I remember in an old house my bass amp would make a whining noise when the light in the lounge was on, the room next door. Old wiring I guess.
  19. It wasn’t a comment about this bass specifically just a general observation.
  20. Definitely not related to any other equipment interference? I find my bass uke hisses a bit when my fluorescent desk lamp is on.
  21. Maybe a PM would have been more polite

    Fee

Hi there. Thanks for supporting the site. It looks like the renewal invoice was issued 13 hours ago so you might have an email to alert that payment will be taken. If you’d prefer to do it now manually please use this link and there should be a ‘renew now/pay now’ button https://www.basschat.co.uk/clients/purchases/ Cheers! ped
  23. That's right, thanks @Reggaebass you can find it there or by clicking here Cheers!
