  1. Try taking the string off and putting it on again making sure to push it down so it bends over the bridge nicely.
  2. Duff string I reckon
  3. Trade offers by PM only please 👍🏼
  4. I was just going to say that the very first shape you posted would balance really well on the knee and it looks cool too. With these little basses you tend to need a fulcrum at the bottom of the bass rather than a cutaway to place the bass on your leg, because you hold it quite differently. With the short scale and smaller body it’ll feel too far back and too low down. Assume the new shape fits you though and it looks great 😀
  5. Pair your headphone setup with a cheap class D head and an Eich Bassboard and you’ll never look at amplifiers again! (Ok maybe a bit)
  6. Why use an amp at home at all? I never can because I don’t like to think it might be annoying someone else and at lower volumes I don’t like hearing the acoustic sound of my bass over the top of the sound from the amp. Solution - get a decent headphone setup.
  7. Great to see it’s gone to a new home. Make sure you post a NBD (new bass day) thread ASAP!!!
  8. Try clearing your cache memory and see if that helps!
  9. Great looking and sounding bass 👍🏼
  10. I probably wouldn’t use mine live but use it at home all the time, even when just listening to music so I can feel the bass drum.
  11. They don’t make much noise but they aren’t silent. Basically you can feel the bass though the platform. I have my office chair on one so when I play (through my headphones) I can feel the bass too; it’s like standing on a massive stage with a huge rig behind you.
  12. Thanks mate very kind. You can buy a sub or make a donation here https://www.basschat.co.uk/store/ Thanks again ped
  13. Hi Ed It COULD be your email address (Hotmail). We’ve had issues before where emails were sent to spam so have a look there. Do you have an alternative email you could switch to just to test? I can make the necessary adjustment just message me and we can try it. Also worth noting that the notifications will only work for items/content posted after you changed the setting so for example you won’t get notifications for anything before we made the jump or retrospectively on any content you’ve posted recently. So if the settings are all ok now you could try commenting on a new thread you’ve not posted in before or starting a new one and see if that works, or at least sends you an email to spam. Hope that helps, must go to bed now so will follow up in the morning. Cheers
  14. Agreed. Good example of Flea’s clicky sound in this tune. Shows how it can sound really smooth and velvety
  15. Thankyouverymuch Agree with your comment re Zender and Flea. A bit of clank/buzz underlying a note gives it great definition and helps cut through imo. Otherwise it can sound a bit ‘buh’
  16. As little or as much as I like - certainly no unwanted buzz or snagging. Tone wise I love a bit of clank/zing behind the notes when I want it. I haven't got many recent recordings but the setup of this bass hasn't changed in over ten years so you can hear my sound here. 99% sure this was using the strings in the pic above, too.
  17. Yeah bang on - tbh I think if you magnify a G string up this much you'd be surprised how they look at the frets.
  18. Totally fine, They're great little basses. Simon bought his along to the LBGS last year and everyone loved it (and thought we were selling them on the Basschat stand!)
  19. They're probably nearly two years old, maybe more. They're Elixirs - they still sound new. Honestly I'll end up wearing them out before they die of natural causes.
  20. Here's my G string (not the first time I've said that online)
  21. Yes those look great. I've drooled over a few - nearly bought a nice used one that came up here a while ago.
  22. If a company can't be bothered to reply to a potential customer then I'm out! Anyway I have a WIngbass which I think fills the brief better, and as far as I know was the original half-bass
  23. Well originally it was £39 inc. p&p when adjustable with hardware and a pick holder. I was expecting it to be a bit more with the customisations but it was the same. Not cheap I guess but it’s exactly what I wanted so fair enough. The ends are proper leather not PU.
  24. And his gigs are 4000+
