  1. No worries at all ☺️
  2. There might be a Basschatter who can take a look for free. Very difficult to assess by proxy. Relief is a preference but the physics of the string do mean that it's fairly standard to have some relief to compensate for string movement. You can end up going round in circles if you don't do everything in the correct order, so it's good to start with a recommended setup if you don't have much experience doing it yourself, and go from there.
  3. FYI there’s a 36hr bumping rule. The countdown timer at the top of the thread will let you know when bumpage can commence 👍🏻
  4. Sounds like you might need your frets levelling then. Whereabouts are you?
  5. It's almost made me unsub
  6. Someone realised they sound better 😉
  7. I press the string at the first and last fret and see how far away the string is from the middle frets. Personally I like it so close you can't see any gap but just about feel a tiny bit when you press it down. It's all by feel, so just try it and see. Acoustically, my basses with low action rattle a fair bit but plugged in you get that nice clank when you dig in and no nasty fret buzz. If the saddles won't go low enough my preference is to file down the string saddle using abrasive cord rather than shim the neck, unless it needs adjustment by shimming one end, but in that case I'd probably get rid instead. Ive had many instruments that can't support a low enough actin and the next owner they suit fine!
  8. Here’s the best looking Fender P
  9. Email them and ask you never know...
  10. If it has a maple neck and it’s bright red then anodised gold. Don’t know why fender stopped making aluminium ones, much nicer than plastic. Good gob g&l did them for a while but again they stopped too?!
  11. Ah that might have been me, I accidentally did something about social media promotion and selected that thread as a test - turned it off now but didn’t realise anything had happened to the thread just had a quick look and can’t see where any posts might have gone. Any others you’ve spotted?
  12. I was installing an extractor fan earlier which came with some foam that looked perfect for a bridge mute. I’ve shaven off some of the G side to even out the dampening (my G string is always very low) and I can pull it out half way to mute everything but the G because I quite like to do that so popped accents stand out. The lines on the foam in second picture are shadows of the strings. I’ll finish the fan tomorrow
  13. Just flag it and we’ll delete for you
  14. I was more saying how it seems kind of an own goal to make such a tiny pedal/amp and then have a PSU about the same size; sort of makes it less compact than you first assume.
  15. Do you mean the Rotosound comp? Yes winners have now been picked and the strings are being sent on Monday - I wasn't sure if I should announce a list of winners or not so just said in the thread that if you won you'll have received a PM. There's another tasty competition coming in a few days time so keep em' peeled Cheers ped
  16. Looks quite cool, but it always upsets me when something like this, which is so neat and tiny, has a PSU about the same size
  17. If a user bumps their advert using the bump button it will ‘update’ the thread but the date on the list shows the last post. So it’s correct, but doesn’t ‘log’ the bumps. Hope that helps!
  18. I got quite used to the neck cover on a jazz although mine was a thinner type you still see on Atelier-z and sadowsky basses. Now I don’t own a jazz so no covers either.
  19. There's also this register http://www.guitarsbyleo.com/AUTOREG/interact2.php3?registry_id=1
  20. I tried loads of straps and indeed it became a bit of an obsession at one point. THE softest and most comfortable I have is made from ethically sourced Buffalo leather 🐃 It’s a single layer, suede like on the inside, it literally flops into a heap when removed. I just bought another from eBay here https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F133055968613 Bit of a pain it’s from the US but we’ll worth it, it’ll last you forever!
