  1. Great, I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts. Mine is part of my home playing setup so everything goes through it, so basically the music I’m playing along with and my bass. Using the amp I can normally fine tune the response to give me a really fat kick drum which makes playing along feel great and really helps with feel and timing. I haven’t used it live for a long time but in the studio too I have everything going into it - I want to feel the rhythm and anything too trebly won’t shake it anyway. Also at home I pay music in my studio through my hifi and have the floor board providing some kick which is really addictive!
  2. Every bit helps but you can always cancel it and renew next time you'd like to sell something - however you'll miss out on the reduced renewal price. I'm trying to add some more friendly text to the renewal invoice because at the moment it's a bit scant on detail about how the subs help the site etc! Thanks ped
  3. I think something class D and powerful will fit the bill. I use a TC BH800 which is great, especially because using the compressor helps beef up the response of the board over the whole range of the bass. I turn the hi-mid and treble controls off so only the bass gets through to the board, but with the comp you still get plenty of rumble on the G string too. Whereabouts are you, you're welcome to come and try mine.
  4. Bunch of arses!
  5. ...or dead 🤣
  6. If you edit you can add ‘sold’ to the title. Or ‘report’ it and we can do it for you
  7. https://www.bajaao.com/products/cort-b4-plus-as-opn-4-string-bass-guitar-open-pore-natural?variant=3154491572248 I’d get this.
  8. Ok well I don’t think we can say anything more to help at this point, everything’s been covered - so take it to a tech.
  9. Click the button in the email and you can cancel it there. If you must https://www.basschat.co.uk/faq/ option 7 here will help too.
  10. You can’t tell by eye. You’re just going to have to take this somewhere to get the thing level and setup properly I think. Let us know how you get on...
  11. As I said earlier you might have a/some dodgy fret(s) and it’ll need professional help.
  12. No worries at all ☺️
  13. There might be a Basschatter who can take a look for free. Very difficult to assess by proxy. Relief is a preference but the physics of the string do mean that it's fairly standard to have some relief to compensate for string movement. You can end up going round in circles if you don't do everything in the correct order, so it's good to start with a recommended setup if you don't have much experience doing it yourself, and go from there.
  14. FYI there’s a 36hr bumping rule. The countdown timer at the top of the thread will let you know when bumpage can commence 👍🏻
  15. Sounds like you might need your frets levelling then. Whereabouts are you?
  16. It's almost made me unsub
  17. Someone realised they sound better 😉
  18. I press the string at the first and last fret and see how far away the string is from the middle frets. Personally I like it so close you can't see any gap but just about feel a tiny bit when you press it down. It's all by feel, so just try it and see. Acoustically, my basses with low action rattle a fair bit but plugged in you get that nice clank when you dig in and no nasty fret buzz. If the saddles won't go low enough my preference is to file down the string saddle using abrasive cord rather than shim the neck, unless it needs adjustment by shimming one end, but in that case I'd probably get rid instead. Ive had many instruments that can't support a low enough actin and the next owner they suit fine!
  19. Here’s the best looking Fender P
  20. I thought sonic was blue!
  21. Email them and ask you never know...
  22. If it has a maple neck and it’s bright red then anodised gold. Don’t know why fender stopped making aluminium ones, much nicer than plastic. Good gob g&l did them for a while but again they stopped too?!
  23. Ah that might have been me, I accidentally did something about social media promotion and selected that thread as a test - turned it off now but didn’t realise anything had happened to the thread just had a quick look and can’t see where any posts might have gone. Any others you’ve spotted?
  24. I was installing an extractor fan earlier which came with some foam that looked perfect for a bridge mute. I’ve shaven off some of the G side to even out the dampening (my G string is always very low) and I can pull it out half way to mute everything but the G because I quite like to do that so popped accents stand out. The lines on the foam in second picture are shadows of the strings. I’ll finish the fan tomorrow
  25. Just flag it and we’ll delete for you
