  1. Meanwhile I’d better book a tetanus shot
  2. Sterling’s dropped the ball big time here. Interested to hear what they have to say..
  3. New strings arrived.... rusty!!!!
  4. Very cool indeed. Looks great. Really nice balance between ‘special’ and ‘standard’ if you get what I mean.
  5. Generally I try and support shops but some make that quite difficult. What I worry about is the likes of Amazon, Facebook, eBay etc becoming so ubiquitous that even the good guys, smaller more specialist firms (like BC!), get passed over because default behaviour becomes to use one of the giants.
  6. It depends on your devices really; for example if you use an iPhone and a Mac then the built in 'Keychain' is pretty seamless. Another good one is LastPass, which my dad uses - I think that works across different operating systems. Some of them seem quite expensive though, so you can also set things like two factor authentication on sites you use which contain sensitive data like anything that stores your card details or where payments are processed. I think some browsers like Chrome have the ability to set a two factor process using a google phone app in tandem. It's a bit of a faff at first but I decided to make the jump about five years ago and get my online activity game tight, part of that was to move to a completely cloud based system.
  7. Yes I found a couple of people who had mentioned it online (and some typically terse replies from Sterling Ball). Shame because I liked them. It can’t be sweat related because they have only need used for grooving at home. Still, I’m pretty convinced that the labellas sound really nice in their own way so I’ll stick with them for now.
  8. Don’t act like you weren’t impressed
  9. I thought I’d give these a try since I haven’t used them before. My EB Cobalt flats went rusty (weird... but they’re sending me a new set) so put these on in the meantime. I like light strings and didn’t know that LaBella did them so previously I mainly used TI flats which I liked, which before the EBs came out I thought were the lightest flats you can get. The labellas sound great - they’re smoother and more grippy than the Cobalts right now and they have a real chunky sound with a strong lower mid bias I’d say - the top end is very ‘barky’ and right, less sustain than the EBs but they really cut through. Otherwise not that different in all honesty. The G string is slightly lighter than the EB and tension feels low giving me some bite when I dig in. Nit bad value either, ordered from Bass Direct on Monday.
  10. Possible in some cases, but in this day and age it is basically not an issue unless you happen to be a particular target by a supergroup https://www.howtogeek.com/135546/htg-explains-why-you-cant-get-infected-just-by-opening-an-email-and-when-you-can/ In fact with most modern email apps it's sometimes impossible not to 'view' an email.
  11. I got one of these emails on a burner account I used for something ages ago. I asked them to go ahead and release the video... please like and share!
  12. Very nice - who are the dudes in the pic (I recognise Roger in the middle)
  13. I had one of those - I stung them along for about 30 minutes, pretending I was completely computer illiterate (she spent a few minutes telling me which the space bar was) and when she finally said 'And what does it say on your executable window?' I said 'oh, that's strange - it says 'f&*k off'
  14. This thread just goes to show how much misinformation and misconception there is out there that the scammers are able to exploit.
  15. Yeah I got that - and smiley is looking fine my end!
  16. No. But obviously don't click any links or download any attachments.
  17. Ignore and add 'bitcoin' to your spam filter As a general rule, you should change your passwords on sites you use so they each have a unique code. You can use a password manager to help with that.
  18. Yes we were one of the sites affected.
  19. That's the weird thing, I literally haven't sweated on them at all; the bass they're on has only been used at home! And I really don't sweat, either! Honest! One thing I did wonder about is that my office/bass room opens on to the garden so when I have left the bass on a stand it gets some fresh air now and then - and the weather has been a bit dodgy recently, but still.. acid rain maybe
  20. Stringsandthings have replied and said they'll send me another set which is really good. They said it's a bit too long since purchase to know whether it's a manufacturing defect or something I've done so they asked for a pic which I have attached here also. To be honest I have given the strings a bit of a clean (before pic) and they still sound and feel OK - but a new set is appreciated!
  21. Ah yes I meant to say I want the WL20L, I thought the models were the other way round. Yes just a pure signal please!
  22. It will be interesting to A/B it with my favourite cable. I can definitely hear the difference between that and a few others I have, so I assume/hope the wireless will be up there in terms of quality (but I assume not as good as the best cable)
  23. Yes it could have been a cumulative effect - I think I was super sensitive to it as I'd just returned an iRig 2 HD because the latency was really noticeable. I'm pretty sure I had a Smoothhound and another I tried was a Shure (I think?) but really can't remember. I really like the look of the Boss wireless so perhaps worth giving another go. It's just that at home I play with what (to me) is a perfect setup which sounds so crystal clear that any noise or latency stands right out. I mean I am even able to hear a difference in cables, something I never thought possible. I might give the Boss WL-20 a go then...
  24. I have yet to try one where I don't notice the latency (in studio environment). It's a shame because I really don't like cables all over the place and I love gadgets
